“Business overtakes spirituality !”

If someone had asked me about this temple - few years back - i would have given great reviews but not today. Its virtually become a business centre. Shops - shops and shops - People trying to convince you to take tickets to visit the cave, to offer milk and so on.

Few years back there was no special entries, no shops - it was so beautiful - now the mall in front of it has taken more precedence.

Such a beautiful idol of Lord Shiva and Ganesha - should visit this place just to see them but
If you are going for some peace , calmness and divine bliss - i would strictly advice against it.

“A business centre and not a temple”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 January 2013

I visited this temple last week with my wife. The aim was to visit a spiritual place but this temple turned out to be a commercial place instead.
To begin with the temple has 2 queues, one for general public which gives free entry and another one a Rs. 50 special entry. We first stood in the general entry queue, but after 10 minutes realised that the queue was moving at a snails pace since the temple security were purposely not allowing general queue to move fast. We were forced to buy special entry ticket and entered the temple immediately.
Inside the temple, again there was a entry ticket for jyotilinga yatra which is a loot. There were other ways to spend money also by paying for miracle coin and hawan.
The only plus point is a very beautiful Shiva idol in the temple because of which I am rating this place 2 out of 5.

“Avoid this if you can.”

It's on the regular tour circuit, and if you don't mind lining up to see a Disneyesque version of a temple, then go for it. But really, there are better things to endure Bangalore traffic to see and experience.

“A suprising shrine in the middle of the city”

I have been in Bangalore for 5 years now and always wondered about the Shiva Temple. The temple is underneath / behind the Total Mall on Old Airport Road. Once you go in, there are long lines for "darshan" (to offer prayers). There is a hint of commercialisation around you, but then again, even the God's home requires maintenance. Overall it is a peaceful oasis in the midlle of all the hustle outside.

“great temple but being commercialized”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 December 2012

This is temple situated on old airport road was an temple wth only the shiv statue in the begining, but gradually this place offers different "yatras". The so called Express darshan is a loot, Here each and every priest literally ask you to put more money. This place has become more of a buisness center than temple. Definitely this part can be improved, but the temple part is good.
