Stayed here in the January'2014 for business for one night. The hotel is located in the lively locality of Koramangala. Stayed in the One bedroom suite which was spacious and very comfortable.Would repeat the hotel during my next visit to the city.

The employees at this Grand Mercure property are some of the best in the hospitality business (front of the house and back of the house). Several long time Grand Mercure Bangalore employees left this property over a several month period during 2013 and I can tell you there was little effect in the quality of service because of the "process" Accor and this property have in place. The current employees "stepped-up" and "shined" with regards to the services they provide to their Grand Mercure Bangalore guests. One of the chefs left back in May 2013 to pursue another opportunity and returned several months later and management approved his return I'm sure because of the great job he had done in the past at this property and he was welcomed back by the employees and guests with "open arms". Everyone from the General Manager, F&B Managers and staff, Housekeeping staff, Security staff, Duty Managers and front desk employees, Laundry & Maintenance staff and the GM's Executive team take pride in their work and make sure each Grand Mercure Bangalore guest(s) is treated right during their stay at this property. The employees come accross as truly enjoying their jobs at this property. I always keep up with the reviews of this property and for those that have issues I will stress to you to communicate to the proper level and they will get looked into and resolved regardless of how long you stay at this property. Are there issues at this property? Yes but they get looked into and resolved if you communicate them to management. When I leave this property and travel and stay at other hotel(s) I always use this property as a measuring guide for level of service, cleaniness and selection/quality of food and I can attest this property measures up to some of the best properties around the world. I have high regards for this property and the employees that work on-site. If you have the opportunity to stay at the property make sure you get to know Pankaj, Binod, CS, Tejus, Tony, Both of the Roshan's, Nave, Gaurav, Girish, the Chefs (12th & Main and By The Blue) and the hard working Interns.

Room Tip: Rooms away from the elevators and off the long hallway are quiet. If you keep the curtains closed d...

If you want to have good stay in India, plan not only the sightseeing but your accommodation as well. Don't try to safe money from hotel or food - these should be of good quality for your safety and health. Also bear in mind that the ranking system is not fully comparable to European. Usually 5-star hotel in India is similar to let's say 4-starts generally for Europe. Grand Mercure Bangalore is an excellent choice, if you visit this very populated city. You will get exactly what you paid for and even more. The ratio prise/quality is very favorable. You can get reliable, clean, air-conditioned transportation and an English speaking driver (very important as not many drivers in India can be expected to speak English). The transport, provided from the the hotel, is rather expensive but it worth the comfort that you get. All other cheaper alternatives are either not so clean, or it is difficult to arrange them (in India you can't just go out on the street and expect to stop a taxi - that way you can get only auto rickshaw which we would recommend only to adventurous tourists; normal car-taxi you can order only on phone and in advance and still Indians are not very punctual and time is quite relative for them, so that you might end up with getting taxi 30 minutes later than you planed). Grand Mercure Bangalore can arrange car for you in time for moving around in the city or for airport transfer. As for the rooms, they are very clean and comfortable. You get excellent bed (better than yours at home), free bottled water every day, bathroom consumables replaced as soon as you finish them, even daily. You have free bathrobe and slippers. You don't get bath, only shower but in India it is preferable considering the warnings about quality of water. You can heat water in your room and prepare tea or coffee and even food - you have fully equipped kitchen. 12 main restaurant is excellent. Everything is freshly prepared and service is excellent. Breakfast is rich - continental as well as Indian dishes for your choice. Additionally for free you can order eggs the way you like them and they will come hot, made specially for you. You must try the pancakes with maple syrup - memorable taste. All cakes and dough-nuts also worth to try. And an absolute must are juices at breakfast - real natural fruit's juice. Buffet is offered also for dinner, if you like Indian food mainly (more or less spicy). Safety measures in the hotel are impressive. Every car is checked before entering and every person (even guests) pass security check (similar to the one on the airport) every time when he enters the hotel. So you feel safe which is also important in India.

The Hotel is in middle of a Upmarket Residential area, yet close to the Commercial centers. The Hotel is quite and the rooms are very spacious. The most amazing part of my stay was the people who worked in the hotel, starting from the front desk to the people at the restaurant. Always smiling and eager to help. The restaurant by the poolside served one of the best indian food i have tasted. Overall the experience will be cherished and remember. Will definitely go back.
