“Outstanding Bangalore Hotel”

Spent 1 night here after arriving on a morning international flight. About 45 minutes from BLR. The room was well appointed, very quiet and comfortable. There is a nice work desk with free wifi. The bath included a large shower as well as a tub. Spacious storage, adaptive lighting, satellite TV. Food service in the all-day restaurant was excellent with a variety of Indian and international cuisine.

I would definitely stay again.

We stayed at the hotel on August 14th and 15th. However we booked the suite room in May itself. When we checked in they asked for our credit cards. But when we said we would pay in cash they were apprehensive. We were supposed to go on a trip to Mysore and then come and stay here again on 16th. When we said we would pay in cash they asked us to pay for the full two days with the tax right when we checked in. This happened inspite of us showing our roper IDs. Anyway we paid. After finishing our conference when we checked out on 15th and asked for our bill they asked us to show our pan cards. We said we did not bring it and was not the other ID enough.

But the lady at the front desk --- Appalavi --- her behaviour was appalling. She did not even respect us. We have stayed as a family in even 7 star hotels and none of them have asked for our pan cards. When we gave the pan number too she was defiant saying she has to see the PAN card . We don't know what was wrong with her. Do all people who stay at hotels pay with credit cards? Is the voter ID not enough for proof? And all this after she took payment for two days in advance in cash.

After much wrangling and shouting she obliged. Horrible, horrible staff. Do you think that a person who can pay for a suite at Rs.17000 per night will be a low level person? This is nothing but terrible and biased behavior. All rich people do not come dressed in suits. Atleast they must inform us beforehand that they need the PAN card in original when we check in.

Now we have checked out and are staying at the ITC.

We appreciate your efforts in leaving behind a feedback for us. It is our utmost focus to provide our valued guests with personalized service that meets high standards of hospitality.

I understand that at check out you wanted to settle the bills by cash to which our associate politely informed that as a government regulation, we would need your PAN Card details or Form 60 if the transaction is above INR 25000. We are surprised to know that other hotels would not ask for the same, as it amounts to contravention of the Law of the Land. Our associates were only trying to explain the government regulation to you so that you have a smooth departure to which you were not willing to comply.

We at Movenpick believe in very strong Corporate Governance; and as a responsible corporate citizen of India will not do anything that contravenes the law. Sometimes, to ensure compliance of the same, we land up in such embarrassing situations, where despite of we all knowing the regulations do not want to adhere the same. Howsoever, we look forward to your understanding and we thank you for giving us the opportunity to be of service to you.

Review:-
Staff behavior - Very good
Restaurant - B/Fast is very good having variety of items to choose from.
Room - Standard & can improve
Location - Away from main roads & transportation is an issue if you don't have a vehicle or per-booked taxi.
Ambiance - I was staying in the 4th floor of the hotel. The smell in the corridor was from the basement open restaurant due to less ventilation. This needs to be taken care of.

stayed at this place for one week and I have to say it was a perfect week. Service excellent and food from the buffet outstanding, they even fulfilled extras and made Parathas and butter chicken for dinner for example. Concierge and front desk extremely helpful and service driven. This hotel made my week an easy and enjoyeable week. Perfect and many thanks to the team.

Have been here during an exhibition. It is an excellent hotel, with all standards definitely up to what you would expect from a Moevnpick. Price in the same line. Good restaurants inside, with variety of Indian and international dishes (including Swiss cheese raclette - and pretty good too - !). Bar for chilling out is there, as well. Internet working smoothly, proper business center service. It's and ok business hotel.

I stayed for 5 days in the hotel. The staff was helpful in all aspects. Especially in finding solutions for my dietary requirements (a.o. no spicy food, excluding more or less all Indian food). All staff is polite and friendly

The food was very well thought out,service was attentive.
