Owner description: The Neo-Dravidian-style Vidhana Soudha is the seat of the state legislature while the red Attara Kacheri houses the High Court. In 2005, an annex called the Vikas Soudha was inaugurated, designed as an exact replica of the Vidhana Soudha. Though these buildings cannot be visited, they can be viewed from the outside.

“An enormous Structure”
Reviewed 10 December 2013

Vidhana Soudha, the seat of the Legislature, an imposing building in the neo Dravidian is one place to visit. It is Sunday and the place was close so we were not able to enter inside.

But the overall structure, history and purpose of the building and its function is worth seeing. You can learn them by walking around and reading all the posts around.

“Different place”
Reviewed 2 December 2013

Nowadays Metro work is in progress in front of Vidhan Soudha. It is informed that one can go inside with proper pass. I missed the opportunity as I happened to go on a sunday. From the view it is just like a Mysore Royal construction. Once Metro work completes I am sure it would be treat to watch the place.

“A wonderful old building”
Reviewed 10 October 2013 via mobile

Vidhyanath Soudha is the legislative assembly of the state. It was conceived and built on the lines of magnificent structures on Europe. Painted white and off white it is imposing and majestic.

For those if you lucky enough to get inside the main hall, it is a very handsome hall.

Vikasa Soudha next to it is an imitation wannabe.

The most beautiful buildings in this complex though are the red high court building opposite Vidhana Soudha and general post office at the end of the road.

Don't forget to take a stroll into Cubbon park, Bangalore's lung space in the city centre.
