I'm very surprised by the amount of positive reviews of the Park. We were booked into it by our company for a business trip and I checked tripadvisor and felt quite pleased with the choice. But I was shocked on arrival to find that it is nothing like a luxury hotel. Sure, they've stuffed every window and bed with lime green silk, but that does not make up for the dank conditions. My bedroom and bathroom walls were full of cracks and the bubblings of damp; my coffee/tea tray was full of tiny insects; one of my showerheads didn't work and the other was hanging out of the ceiling, half the lights didn't work, and I agree that the selection and service at breakfast was poor. I will say that the bedsheets and towels (although only had two thin towels) were scrupulously clean and this is the only reason I managed to cope with sleeping there.
The Park seems to specialise in massive parties downstairs and I guess this is where it puts its energies and earns its reputation. Fair enough. However for a business trip it is not of sufficient standard. In fact, my colleague had to move rooms at 4am the first night due to the noise from partygoing guests. The walls and floors are extremely thin. When travelling and working you need better than this.More
