“Best Hotel In South India”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 December 2011

Visited Bangalore this year for a short vacation. I have heard many great things about this hotel from a great number of people, so I decided to spend a week in one of the the royal club rooms.

From the moment you arrive, this hotel is nothing but extraordinary. The design is stunning, reflecting palaces of old. The interior decor is extremely tasteful and the lobby is very impressive.

I was fortunate enough to stay in one of the Royal Club rooms, situated in the top two floors of the hotel. This included a personalised butler service and access to the club lounge. The club lounge offered complimentary breakfast, high tea, cocktails (from 1800-2100) and had a billiards room with adjacent cigar lounge on the top floor.

The distinguishing feature of all Leela properties is the service. And this hotel does not disappoint. The staff are extremely vigilant to your needs, without being intrusive (an art other hotels have yet to master). The whole Royal Club is run by the butlers and they are very efficient, conscientious and intelligent. They quickly adapt to your requirents and nothing is too much trouble.

The room itself was very well appointed and the bed was comfortable. The twice daily housekeeping ensured no clutter and the turn down service was great. My only criticism would be the wifi service. Wifi is charged extra (at this price it really should be thrown in), it was slow and the reception in the room was patchy at best. Wifi reception in the club lounge was satisfactory.

The spa and gym were good. The gym was very well equiped and the spa was a very relaxing experience. There are a whole host of therapies available and the steam rooms and jacuzi were great.

To summise, I had a rather splendid week in this truly amazing place, and I will definately stay here whenever I visit Bangalore.

Room Tip: Royal Club rooms are a little dearer, but well worth the extra expense. Opt for a room with a garden...

Awesome Hospitality!! Its really worthy to be here. Every cent is paid back in the form of pleasure treat.
The chef are very experienced and explored the new era in the Indian Food style. In addition , it is situated very much near to the famous MG Road. One can never forget this experience , and makes our stay very lively in Bangalore . I have been on a pleasure trip in the month of June 2011.I really had a hard time when i am leaving. I really thank the administrators for making my stay a wonderful experience to me . Thanks once again!!!

this hotel is obviously run with the international business traveller in mind. the fort/palace-like environment is more rajasthan than bangalore, but it seems to work even so. good food, specially the lunch buffet. the front desk could use better organisation.

very large rooms and bathrooms. but you pay for it :)

being in busy indira nagar, this was a great choice with the old airport. it is 1.5-2 hours to the new airport from here. decent restaurants near the hotel on 100 ft road. mg road is about 30 mins in a taxi. though the hotel itself is quiet, there is plenty of chaos around it. don't bother with going for a run outside in the morning.

One of the best hotels I have ever stayed in.
Service, atmosphere, comfort, luxury, gourmet food, splendid spa treatment...you will have it all!

We stayed here on business for a full week and had a hard time leaving once the trip was over.
Luxurious romantic rooms, excellent service and attention to detail makes this a truly royal stay.
Hotel drivers are also courteous and reliable. I had one drop me off at a local bus station (where we took a tour to Mysore), he came in to make sure our communication with the tour operators flows well. He was also back to pick us up once we returned.
Make sure you try the Indian food served inside the hotel (also brought up to your room per request) and that you go for a spa treatment (the Ayurvedic treatment was one of a kind).

You will love this place!

Great place to eat and stay. The outside bar area was extremely relaxing. Mandeep was our waiter and he was exceptional. He helped pickout the best dishes to eat. He kept the drinks comming and was cheerful and helpful. He made the place feel so friendly. The Chef in the members resturant Rama was also outstanding. Great omlettes and very helpful to me. An outstanding effort to make the Leela a great place to stay. Food was great. Room was outstadning. Pool was great. Everyone was nice at the hotel with some outstanding emplyees cited above.

Room Tip: Get one facing the courtyard. Outside rooms can me noisy. The horn is a critical part of the traffic...

Amazing decor, service, food and ambience. Beautiful pool and gardens for an oasis of calm in a busy city. Staff are very helpful and eager to please. Nice decor combining empire style with traditional indian colors and details. I have traveled all over the world and Leela is simply the most beatiful and elegant hotel.

The veranda areas and evening cocktails are not to be missed. Love the fitness center as I can not travel without access to one. Breakfast is every dish you thought possible for breakfast, all well cooked and nicely presented. Asian themed restaurant have many dishes -- I ordered a Thai dinner and it was excellent.

The rooms are large, nice balcony, huge suite bathroom with marble finishes.

Room Tip: I like the pool view and even at lower floors it is pleasant.
