Good location - heart of the city. The hotel looked under renovation The room allotted to me however was a non-renovated old one. Room service is prompt and food is great. One thing across is that the staff will not welcome you with a smile virtually anywhere.

We have stayed in many hotels but this is one we would remember and cherish for a good while. The reservation and communication was quite smooth as we were in the mist of our journey when we decided to go with this place. If you want to be in the heart of Bangalore this is the best place to be as it just off the MG Road and at times you can hear the uplifting music coming from the Church opposite to the hotel.
We were upgrade in our room preference and it was the best thing to happen as they have revamp the hotel using some recent technologies. The room was fitted with a Ihome to which you can connect your Ipods or phones and listen to music. The TV also has various extensions to which you can connect laptops, IPads etc. You can also adjust the lighting to suit your preference.
The staff were helpful and attended courteously to you when called. My only suggestion would be regarding the breakfast buffet which I felt was repetitive as we stayed there for 2 nights and found almost the same thing on both the days.
Overall the stay was great and would definitely like to stay here again whenever we visit Bangalore again.

Room Tip: I believe the Superior Room is better. Room facing the entrance for sure.

Stayed more than 3 times in this hotel (the last one in Feb) .. great location close to city hub. I was told that the hotel was under renovation and I experienced the continuous noise during day time in one of the stays. The room allotted to me however has always been a non-renovated old one. Tried breakfast once and is OK. Room service is prompt and food is great.

One thing is consistent across is that the staff will not welcome you with a smile virtually anywhere - the worst being the reception. In fact, you may feel that you have done something wrong by deciding to stay there. Please do not expect even a basic curtsey conversation .. like thanks for choosing this hotel or thank you for coming back. The staff requires significant grooming.

The only message with a smile I received was from the Guard of the hotel - "Sir when are you coming back next?"

I have stay and visit Chancery before.
Matsuri restaurant is very authentic and nice Japanese dishes.
Please visit ones when you are in Bangalore.
Hotel rooms are very clean and automatic washlet toilet by Japanese brand TOTO.
Staff is very good and friendly.

Again a short stay at Bangalore on business trip.
Hotel Rooms are not that good & not at all maintained.
Also morning breakfast & dinner does lack variety.
I would not like to suggest this hotel for stay.

I stayed at this hotel in the last week of February 2014. The photographs on their website and the actual condition of the rooms are two different things. The rooms are dated. Period. However the staff is quite good and very eager to help out. And yes, they are competent also. The restaurant has a pretty decent breakfast spread. Dinner buffet is also decent. Location is quite good, just off M G Road, in the middle of everywhere. Would I stay here once again? No, this wont be my first choice though I would not dismiss this hotel completely.
What pissed me off here was their policy of keeping the room A/C's on even then the client is not in the room. Colossal waste of energy. And the A/C has no real controls. Just a knob with 3 buttons, low, medium, hi. You could freeze to death.
Note: Some of their rooms are undergoing a renovation. So hopefully we have better rooms in the future.

Rooms recently renovated are very nice and provide real good value for money, keeping in mind the location (MG Road is at walking distance). Food is excellent and that includes the night buffet (starts at midnight!)

Room Tip: Ask for the renovated rooms on the fourth floor.
