I stayed at The Chancery Pavilion for a weekend. It was a very pleasant stay. The hotel is located right next to Cubbon Park. Highly accessible from MG Road. Has a city bus stop very nearby. The service desk was very friendly and helpful. The room was good and spacious. The bathroom was clean. The amenities were good. Swimming pool was clean and well maintained. Breakfast was wonderful. Overall a good experience.

I stayed at Hotel Chancery Pavilion Bangalore on 24.01.14 during my visit to Bangalore. This hotel is really nice place for stay. The breakfast restaurant near swimming pool is amazing. Hotel has very nice bar in front of reception and open till late night. The rooms are very species and clean. Rooms on swimming pool side have the best location.

The hotel looks good, service is excellent and fast, anything you request they provide you within minutes. Nice, clean, and comfortable room. Breakfast was lovely, the service at breakfast is awesome.

Tour desk service very helpful!

MG & Brigade road 15mins walk. Auto available outside hotel to take you for Rs50.

There was no money change, resturants, or supermarket in the immediate area. No option but to change at hotel with low rates compared to other places. Plus they reception staff tell you they don't have enough change and will send you the Rs70 or so to you room but they never do. Seems like they have taken it as their tip without our permission. This happened at least twice.

Bed was very hard for my liking but some people may like that.

Overall we were very happy! Had a great time! Will recommend if you don't mind walking to the main shops.

Room Tip: We stayed in a Deluxe room....was nice and spacious. Quiet.

Once upon a time the Chancery might have been a nice hotel, but today it is simply old and run down. The pictures on the hotel web-site are very misleading - these are not the rooms in the Bangalore Chancery Pavilion. The staff was very friendly and efficient, and the lobby is clean and attractive; but the rooms are terrible. The carpeting is worn, the furniture is badly stained, and the mattresses are so poor (springs popping through the threadbare material), that I literally slept on the floor. During my stay, my towels were never changed, the bed linens were dirty, and the mini-bar was never stocked. (I was even charged for minibar items even though my mini-bar was empty the whole time I was there.) The pipes in the bathrooms are rusted and it is questionable if the water is safe to drink. While the hotel does have a breakfast buffet, the quality is much lower than you will find at similarly-priced hotels throughout India. Again, the staff is very pleasant and helpful, and the hotel attempts to put on a face of modern upscale elegance, but once you are past the lobby, it becomes quickly apparent that the hotel is badly in need of repair and upgrade. As an FYI, as bad as my room was, it was supposedly an "upgrade room" - I would hate to think what a normal room would be like. Also, smoking is permitted in the rooms, so if you are a non-smoker like me, be prepared for some disgusting leftover smoke residue in the room. Also, the noise from the alleyways that surround the hotels can be very disturbing, and the surrounding neighborhoods around the hotel are difficult to navigate on foot - lots of broken infrastructure. The hotel was always able to easily arrange a taxi service for me - the hotel staff were very polite and prompt and there are several good dining and shopping options within a 20-minute drive. The hotel bar is small and has a limited stock of top-shelf liquors and wines - the chips served at the bar were consistently stale, but the staff was always friendly and anxious to help. Overall, look for a different hotel - there are many good ones in Bangalore in similar price ranges. Even my India colleagues who were with me on this trip kept apologizing for the poor accommodations that the local office arranged for us at this hotel.

Room Tip: There are too many nice hotels at similar rates in Bangalore for you to choose the Chancery. Stay s...

Usually stay here when in Bangalore due to its central city location and usually good service. This time however it was well below par and expectation.
It started with the airport pickup, the car was dirty smelly and the driver palyed the same one song all the way to the hotel which was an hour and thought he was trying to brain-wash me. His ENglish was not good and an awkward journey.
Rooms - in need of an update now as looking tired and old.
Service - not like it used to be and seems to be more for getting tips than giving the guest the best service and experience.
Food - room service one night was ok, dinner and breakfast selection and quality not to my expectation.

Overall - time for a change of hotel when in BAngalore and will be trying out some different options.

We stayed at the Chancery Pavilion for 4 days. The rooms are neat and well equipped. The best thing about the hotel is the location, very central especially to all the malls and shopping zones.
The staff are very friendly and helpful. They arranged for medicines when my husband was a bit worn out due to the travel. They provided iphone chargers and other necessary item when asked for.
The room is clean and well kept.
The only thing which I felt could be improved was the breakfast, the Indian items were exceptional but the English breakfast can be worked on. Especially coming from London you can feel a difference. Another suggestion ( this has nothing to do with the hotel ) is to not take any autos (tuk-tuk ) from the front of the hotel as they do change stupendous amount as you are exiting a 5-star.
Overall a lovely pleasant stay. Will definitely visit again.

Good property could have been better if things were updated with time. Food was average, stay was decent. Pool facing room was nice. Check-in wasn't smooth, usual key problems were painful. Checkout was smooth. overall all a decent place in decent budget as bangalore hotels are expensive.
