We enjoyed staying in this wonderful palace converted into a hotel from April 19 through 22, 2013. My friend booked and paid for 2 days stay for us through an online booking service.
There were some initial issues with the front desk not knowing about our reservation when we arrived at night, as well as the mosquito infested room they checked us into, but Mr Sandeep was very nice about it and was able to contact the manager, Mr. Joel John. Mr Joel handled the confusion regarding our reservation with aplomb and put us up in a great room. Your night porter, Mr Kumar, was gracious enough to move our luggage twice and made sure that we got an electronic insect repellant as well. The morning breakfasts with Mr Raju and the server, Mr Ananda, was also a complete joy and the meals we had were outstanding! Great omelets and delicious coffee!!
Congratulations on your excellent, service oriented staff. Their hospitality was the highlight of our stay. In addition, Jayamahal Palace’s majestic rooms, great location and beautiful grounds make for a magical stay for the leisure traveler. My son and I spent cool evenings playing football in the lawns and then having evening tea and cold coffee on the patio.

Room Tip: stay in the main building...not the Motel 6 type extension they have out back!!

Staying here is like being in a Club. The building is wonderful and the gardens delightful, although they are often rented out for noisy events. The room was fine, laundry good, the bar very good. However, the management is almost non-existent. This place is good for its price but could be much more - breakfast needs attention as it's chaotic but tasty; the restaurant food portions are huge, also good. The hotel is quite central but it's been marooned by the railway line so to go to the nearby Ujwal or Windsor Pub we ended up walking into oncoming traffic with a wall to one side. Rickshaws go from the exit side, not from the entrance. Easy landmark - Cantt Railway Station.

I happened to be at the Bangalore Literature Festival with a few of my friends and as the food court at the event was not operational, we had to go the restaurant at Jayamahal Palace for a quick bite and some coffee. We ordered for some sandwiches and it took such a long time for it to be served and the food tasted very average. Not recommending this restaurant at all.

Anticipated stay in heritage palace and surprised after looking at accommodation. Its just a tiles/MS sheet roof structure of 1+1 with cheap interiors, besides the palace. No amenities for drivers. Its like a club house stay in normal cities. Don't deceived by Palace photos and take deluxe accommodation, literally you can land in their outhouse. Property is huge and beautiful, but not enjoyed the stay. I didn't see any old customers and every one seem to be 'bakara's just hooked by through net.

Room Tip: Deluxe rooms not treated as 4 star hotel rooms.
