Owner description: One of Bangalore’s busiest markets, the KR market, hides this surprise: an elegant palace built by Tipu Sultan, with teak pillars and frescoes. Though incomparable to the more famous Tipu Sultan’s palace at Mysore, this is one of the relatively unknown monuments of Bangalore. Visit this palace along with the ruins of the fort nearby. Also nearby are a temple and a mosque.
Useful Information: Baby buggy parking

Tipu Sultan's Fort and Palace is nestled in a busy market area. Google maps helped us navigate our way.

The Fort and Palace is a small place having the historical significance of being Tipu Sultan's operational palace while in Bangalore.

The Palace is made of wood and the carvings on wood are beautiful. The balcony overlooking the garden is gives an old world feeling. It looks like a Darbaar. The garden surrounding the palace is small and maintained well.

Do not expect too much, it is better to plan this visit en-route another place.

Parking is a challenge.

Decided to visit this palace, i thought it will be big but wt u saw was just architecturally carved pillers and 3 room and a garden in front very small.

Visit only if u have leisure time just 10 to 15 min is more than enough to see the palace as nothing much there to see it except read the history in the photos and recalling it.

Decided to visit Tipu Sultan's summer palace after reading reviews in TripAdvisor. Generally tripadvisor always helped me to explore the best attractions in the cities wherever I go, but this time it went terribly wrong.

Guys! there is no parking for two or four wheeler at Tipu's palace. So, if you are using your own vehicle to visit the palace, you might need to park the vehicle way far from the place.

The palace is so small that it put us on doubt if Tipu Sultan really used to come here during summer time. Only three small rooms(really feel sad to call those as rooms) are there with few informative pictures hanging in the wall. Upper floor is completely made of wood but couldn't find even a small reason not to compare with simple village wooden huts.

I visited this palace with family and found that this tourist attraction palace is not in good shape and maintenance is not up to mark compared to other attraction places. I request management to take care for this historical and cherishable palace so that tourists can be happy and enjoy their trip there.
