District 6 is a brew pub that does not yet brew beer.
Odd, you say, that I should rate D6 as "excellent" in that case...no, it's because of the food.
I recently stayed at the Sheraton WTC in BLR, and noticed the attached D6 restaurant from the road. Although there is no direct access from the hotel, it is a very short walk away.
On my first visit, I asked for a draft beer and was informed by the waiter that, despite the visible presence of brewing equipment behind the glass walls, the brewery was not yet operational. Bad start, I thought, and asked for the wine list. The list was quite good, and much more reasonably priced than other BLR establishments.
With a decent red in hand, I perused the food menu. The waiter returned to offer assistance, and recommended the pork belly skewers as a starter. Although not generally a pork belly fan, I agreed, and also ordered the tenderloin steak as an entree. Both were simply superb. For dessert, the apple crisp was an absolute delight. With tip, the total for the meal came to less than $35.
I visited D6 several more times during my stay, and enjoyed various sausages, skewers, and other starters and entrees. All were perfectly prepared and absolutely delicious.
How much better will the experience be when the brewery is operational?
