We chose Sajhome because of the reviews in TA and were not disappointed. Saj is a delight! He sent a car to fetch us at the airport and because we had mixed up our dates and he didn't have a room for our first night, recommended we stay next store at Chackupurakal which worked out very well. Our room with Saj was wonderful! Comfortable 4-poster bed, fast internet, tv, beautiful furnishings and, of course, a Kerala breakfast - on the balcony. My only recommendation would be more comfortable chairs on the balcony! Otherwise, it is a perfect place to stay in Ft. Kochi and Saj is a gold mine of information about what to see and do.

Room Tip: We specifically asked for a 'real' double/queen bed, not two twins pushed together. I think...

Very kind family. We loved our stay at Sajhome. A drink at arrival was big surprise for us. The kind family answered every question and arranged our final taxi to the airport. They fulfiled all our whishes and gave good advises for our stay in Kochi. Room was very clean and everything worked fine. The breakfast was opulend and changing every day. So we could expierience different indian food. My wife asked for a banana pancake and there ist was the next day for the first time at sajhome. Congratulations Saj for your engagement for your guests. A real host. The hospitality of your family and you staff makes the difference.

Room Tip: During hot season ask for A/C room.

This utterly no-frills place works great for young backpackers. If you are working/ traveling with family you might prefer other options, even if they might cost more.

We missed a decent TV and good linens. Also access requires climbing somewhat steep stairs, which is not ideal for little children/ older people/people with disability or if you are just really tired : )
There is no view to look out onto and since the house is basically on the street, the one balcony gets noisy during the day.

The whole place is basically a one man/one family show. Saj, the owner stays downstairs and rents out the rooms upstairs. His wife cooks the morning breakfast. Because of his good natured approach to guests, the place feels like a labor of love. We felt like we were visiting a family friend. Saj invited us to his home downstairs and entertained us with his wonderful singing. We were then delayed for dinner, so he dropped us in his car at the restaurant! He was also ready with suggestions for car booking, places to eat, temples to visit etc.

Fort Cochi is small and easy to get around. Saj home is well located, though not in the most scenic part. Kerala in general is also really expensive, (even in dollar terms), so the value proposition of Sajhome - clean, safe and budget friendly - makes it wildly popular.

We will be back, but mostly to say hello to Saj and his family.

We booked Sajhome having read all of the wonderful reviews here-we were a little apprehensive as this was our first home-stay, thankfully we were not disappointed. Upon arrival in Kochi we were collected by our taxi which had been organised in advance with Saj. Once at the accommodation, we were warmly greeted and shown to a clean and comfortable room.
Saj was very helpful at organising a cookery course and other activities-we would highly recommend staying here.

Sajhome was a very nice place to stay. Nice and clean, very good breakfast and Saj and his family were very helpfull when we stayed in Cochin and before that, when we was planning our trip to Kerala, where Saj was so kind to recommend some very fine homestays in Munnar, Thekkady and Aleppey. We really hope that we se you all again.

We booked Saj's homestay because of good online reviews and we were more than pleased with our decision. The rooms were clean and the included breakfast was always fresh and delicious. Unfortunately, my mom fell very ill during our time at Sajhome and we needed to postpone our departure for a day. During this time, Saj and his family took extra care of my mom to make sure that she was staying hydrated and would recover as soon as possible. I thank Saj and his family for their extraordinary care and service at this fantastic homestay. I would highly recommend Sajhome to anyone looking for a comfortable and personal homestay experience.

For the first time I booked a homestay for my family. But despite reading the reviews in Trip Advisor I was little apprehensive. But after staying with the wonderful family of Mr Sajid Ali for three days, I would say I made the right decision. The home cooked Kerala breakfast is delicious. Mr Saj has good knowledge and contacts to help you in hiring taxi or arranging a tour at a very reasonable price. His proactive approach makes him unique and the hospitality extended is just amazing.
I would recommend this homestay simply because it is better than the best.
