My friend and I stayed here for one night. The guest house rooms are on the second floor while Saj and his family live downstairs. Conveniently, there is an ATM downstairs as well. For a no frills place, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean. The free wifi worked great, which is unusual for a guest house (we stayed at 4 different ones on our three week trip). We also had no problems working the A/C. It would have been nice to have more outlets in the room, but we managed. There is a nice common balcony where meals are served and you can hang out.

I loved the service. Saj was helpful in booking our train tickets from Goa to Kerala. We were warmly greeted by him and his cute young daughter. We got to Fort Cochin in the afternoon and only had a half day to explore the area. Saj knew exactly what to do. He hired us a driver who spoke very good English to take us around and gave us restaurant suggestions. The breakfast they served at the house was delicious, and we really appreciated the chilled mango juice (we even asked for seconds!).

For a very short stay, Saj did a wonderful job in making our trip smooth, and I felt we were able to make the most of our time there.

We started our trip staying with Saj and his family who we found very helpful and informative. Delicious Keralan breakfasts, large and inviting rooms with balcony and in a great central location. Saj recommended places to stay in other areas of Kerala which were also perfect for us. We returned again twice on our trip and every time was greeted with warmth and a big smile. Highly recommend This wonderful homestay.

Our Itinerary
Day 1 - Arrive in Kochi and head to Munnar
Day 2 - Sightseeing in Munnar
Day 3 - Return to Kochi and Kochi Sightseeing
Day 4 - Kochi Sightseeing
Day 5 - Depart for Udupi

First things first..
1. The Staff - I booked my whole itinerary with the help of Mr.Ali (owner of Sajhome) - Hotel bookings, sightseeing and the car hire for 5 days. Communicated with Mr.Ali on several occassions as my itinerary kept changing several times and all my questions/concerns/queries were smoothly answered. Upon Arrival, he and his family were more than happy to sort me out for everything. Thanks Guys!
2. The Stay - The room had a homely feeling. The bed was comfy, the washrooms, cupboard were neatly done. Everyday there was breakfast which was a good spread.
3. The Location - Its conveniently located. There are plenty of options for food as well surrounding this place.

Oh and most important one.. I needed to change my flight tickets urgently and wasnt sure where to find the internet and a computer. Mr.Ali even permitted me to use his personal computer. These small things do matter

All in all a good trip. Thanks Guys!

Used Saj's as a bit of a base as we went back and forward for 2 weeks in Kerala during monsoon. Saj couldnt have been more helpful in organising things for us and giving us some great advice and pointers on what to do. The house is very well maintained, has only a small number of rooms, reasonable rates, and is in a quiet part of town within walk of everything you need. Saj and his family made us feel very much at home.

We only had a short time in Kochi, but staying at Sajhome felt like we were staying friends/family. Immediately felt at home with Saj and his friendly family. Saj was an excellent source of local information, gave us map to orientate us (Sajhome is only a short walk from main attractions) and fixed up tourist highlights very quickly as we had little time. Delicious keralan breakfast, lovely a/c room with wifi. He also booked our train and next accom in a beautiful hotel on Varkala beach. Great service Great value and very friendly.

Saj is a very friendly chap and seems a lovely man when he is not trying to sell you something or being defensive.

We tried two rooms. The non AC had mosquitoes and was as hot as hell. We had a very bad nights sleep.

The AC room was much better although there were still mosquitoes. Once we had our mozzy net up it was great.

I mentioned the mosquitoes to Saj, highlighting they probably come in the gaps between the doors and frame - which are sizeable. It felt as if he wasn't prepared to listen though and just wanted to blame me - which was a bit strange. We had kept the doors closed for the duration of our stay.

The pineapple lassi at breakfast was v nice.

What can i say this is the second trip in 2 years Saj has arranged our airport pick up for us ,accommodation , onward travel train tickets and got us dropped off at the station on time to catch our train plus arranged our other travel details , and every time things worked like clock work, sometimes that doesn't happen when travelling in India but he made it seem easy . This is the second time we have stayed with Saj and his family and both times we have enjoyed our stays and breakfasts immensely and there probably will be a third time soon . Saj has a fantastic knowledge of India and how to get around it and is quite happy to share that knowledge with you . He also is a nice bloke just to have a chat to about anything you may need to know . Some of my friends will soon be contacting Saj about staying with him and arranging onward travel and I,m sure their trip will be as good as ours have been . .......thanks again Saj ...............PS sorry this review took so long to write.... life's been busy ......see you again soon...............Kind Regards Allan Corrie
