By far the best place we stayed in India (on a one month backpacking trip). Saj (the host) was fantastic - he helped us arrange travel within Kochi and the various excursions we undertook and always had a smile on his face. His family were always at hand if we needed any help (including a complementary singing session!). Breakfast was absolutely delicious and was made fresh each morning. The rooms were excellent quality. This is really everything you want from your accom and more! I fully recommend this place to all!

We stayed at Sajhome for 3 nights this July, after looking up the reviews on Tripadvisor. Ideally, this place should be categorized as a B&B, not a hotel. Sajhome is a house, with Saj and his family living on the ground floor of the same house and the 5 rooms on the upper floors are for guests. What we really liked about our stay is the personalized attention to detail that we got from Saj and his family.
It was the small touches that really made a difference - the home cooked dinner thoughtfully provided free of charge when we arrived, the detailed map with recommended restaurants and sights close by, simple conversations over superb Kerala-style breakfasts of dosas and appams, all of it made us feel at home and welcome.
The room that we stayed in was clean, though the heavy red curtains and maroon blanket gave it a chintzy feel. The free wifi was surprisingly good. But most of all, it was the attention and local knowledge of Saj that really made the difference. Would love to stay here again.

Room Tip: We stayed in Room 3, which was quiet and overlooked the adjacent property. We wouldn't mind staying there again.

My friend and I stayed here for one night. The guest house rooms are on the second floor while Saj and his family live downstairs. Conveniently, there is an ATM downstairs as well. For a no frills place, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean. The free wifi worked great, which is unusual for a guest house (we stayed at 4 different ones on our three week trip). We also had no problems working the A/C. It would have been nice to have more outlets in the room, but we managed. There is a nice common balcony where meals are served and you can hang out.

I loved the service. Saj was helpful in booking our train tickets from Goa to Kerala. We were warmly greeted by him and his cute young daughter. We got to Fort Cochin in the afternoon and only had a half day to explore the area. Saj knew exactly what to do. He hired us a driver who spoke very good English to take us around and gave us restaurant suggestions. The breakfast they served at the house was delicious, and we really appreciated the chilled mango juice (we even asked for seconds!).

For a very short stay, Saj did a wonderful job in making our trip smooth, and I felt we were able to make the most of our time there.

We started our trip staying with Saj and his family who we found very helpful and informative. Delicious Keralan breakfasts, large and inviting rooms with balcony and in a great central location. Saj recommended places to stay in other areas of Kerala which were also perfect for us. We returned again twice on our trip and every time was greeted with warmth and a big smile. Highly recommend This wonderful homestay.
