Zostel Kochi
Reviewed 3 April 2014

Location is awesome, just 10min on foot from city center, but in very quiet area. Rooms are clean and spacious. Stuff is extremely helpful, friendly and non-pushy. It is place to relax and feel like home. It has balcony with huge mango tree :).

Moreover, they offer a boathouse trip. We decided to take 24h trip. Boat is clean, stuff friendly, food amazing, views breathtaking. If you are planning to rent a houseboat, I recommend you to take the one from Daffodil homestay. There were no tricks, no extra charges, everything worked extremely well!

And last tip: If you have some extra time, ask the stuff where to get good massage...:)

Even if you have bus at evening, you do not have to pay the room for 1 more night, you can use showers, living room, etc. Put shortly, stuff really care about you, trying to make your experience as good as possible.

Price is very reasonable. Good value, no complaints at all. Highly recommended!

Daffodil Homestay is a beautiful house set in a secluded backwater of Kochi. The staff are friendliness itself, headed by the ever attentive Kumar, and go out of the way to be helpful. The place is spotless and tranquil. A visit to the backwaters was organised in the twinkling of an eye! I would not hesitate to pay a return visit.

Finding quiet lodging can be difficult, with traffic noise, barking dogs, and amplified religious broadcasts. Daffodil was a welcomed retreat. Air conditioning worked well; the breakfasts with idli and papaya were good; in the hall there's a fridge with cold bottled water, and also computer for guests' use. A friendly staff, with owner Kumar willing to do whatever he can to make your stay pleasant. On our first day, he walked several blocks with us to help us get oriented. Highly recommended.

Myself and my girlfriend stayed here for two nights in late February 2014. The manager who runs it, kumar, was extremely nice and helpful. Whilst, we there, we happened upon the idea of doing a cookery class. There is loads of houses doing these classes so he said he knew of one which another guest had recommended and he took me down to the village and introduced me. It turned out to be great. He didn't do it for a commission, just a kind act.

The rooms and great value for the money. The location is great for seeing the sites. One tip: the seagull hotel along the waterfront is a great place for a drink and food, with seats over the water. The pepper house cafe right beside is also great for lunch during the day.

A good refuge from the heat of Fort Cochin.
Very tidy and spotless clean. Our room was very spacious and comfortable.
It's overpriced (about 100$ a night), but it's an expensive area, though you can find dicent cheape rooms arround.
It's a homestay with all advantages is such a place, although I prefer to have my breakfast in a more private manner (all guests sit together to the same table).

Everyone at Daffodils was so friendly and accommodating from the minute we arrived, we couldn't have asked for more. Rooms were lovely, bright and clean with a nice upstairs balcony for relaxing. There was also free wifi and computer access and a plentiful breakfast! The location is also great - set away from the main road but only a few minutes walk from the main sites in Fort Cochin. I challenge you to find a better value place to stay in Cochin!

We stayed in Fort Kochi the first night of our India trip, and the Daffodil homestay was a very nice place to start our journey. Basic but clean rooms, very central location in Fort Kochi and great value for money. The staff is super friendly and you really get to experience a bit of real India while staying at this place as the atmosphere is very authentic and personal. Thumbs up for Kumar and his staff!
