“Wonderful”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 September 2013

Tissa Inn lived upto the reviews and it is indeed a wonderful place. Fort Cochin is a quiet locality and this property is as mentioned earlier really relaxing.
Landmark places like Dutch Palace, Jew Town, Jewish Synagogue, St Francis Church and Chinese nets are nearby. This location is well connected to other parts of the Cochin and Hotel management can arrange the visits as per the interest. They were very helpful to us in suggesting and guiding to the places to visit.
One thing very much appealed to me in this property is that they don't supply cigarettes and serve alcohol.
If you are visiting Kerala particularly Cochin, you must go for boat ride.
Smiling receptionists, helpful staff, good and spacious rooms made my stay in Cochin memorable. I thank Sanitha, Melvin and Christina for their hospitality and special thanks to Francis who is behind all of these.
Breakfast is nice.

Had booked the room for 1 night. However it was not available because of some maintenance work scheduled there. They actually went ahead and booked on our behalf in another property by paying the difference themselves. Very nice gesture. Special mention about Sanitha who sits at the front desk. She showed us the big and clean Deluxe Room where we would have stayed but for the maintenace work. She even accompanies us to the other hotel (Tea Bunglow) that they had booked for us. Would definitely recommed Tissa's for a stay at Fort Kochi.

Room Tip: Deluxe Rooms are good

Tissa's Inn was the first stop for us on a 6 day trip to Kerala. Having read the reviews, I was in no doubt that it was going to be a great hotel in a central Fort Kochi location. However our expectations were exceeded by this little gem of a hotel, with its beautiful antique decor and tasteful art and furnishings. Our en suite family room was a good size, accommodating an extra bed comfortably. Wireless internet was easily available in the common areas. The rooftop swimming pool added to the quaintness of this lovely retreat. Sanitha, Mr Francis and the rest of the staff were welcoming and attended to all our needs with a smile. Breakfast was delicious and the honey pancakes were a smash hit with my son!
Our only regret was not staying longer that the one night we had booked before continuing our journey to Munnar. We will surely return to Tissa's Inn once day.

Our room and the common areas of the hotel were decorated with beautiful art and antiques and everything was spotlessly clean. The central location was a plus as was the rooftop swimming pool. Mr Francis and Sanitha were incredibly friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great with juice, fruit and a choice of omelette or Indian breakfast. The only downsides were the lack of a fridge and WiFi in the room. The WiFi was also very slow and unstable - very frustrating as we use the internet a lot to plan and book accommodation at our next destination.

I recently stayed at Tisza's inn with a group of students from the US. The entire hotel was friendly, clean, beautiful and welcoming.

We loved the Kerala style chicken curry in the restaurant and all enjoyed the nice clean and well appointed bedrooms. We were a short walk from everything in Fort Kochi. We will certainly plan our next trip to Kochi back at Tissa's!

Lovely people, the rooms were well appointed and clean. The wireless internet was a little slow and the connection was unreliable. I enjoyed the food in the restauant downstairs. The inn had lovely art and antiques in the hallways and commonspaces, which gave it a lovely "south indian" vibe.

I started my little Kerala Adventure with a night's stay at Fort Kochi. I had read TripAdvisor Reviews about Tissa's & had hence already zeroed in on it. It's a small boutique hotel & is located at what one could call Fort Kochi's sweet spot. Be it the Kerala Kathakali Centre, Princess Street, Petercelli Street OR the Chinese Fishing Nets - everything is extremely close from here.

Now about the hotel: I must say, you'll love every bit of what this place is all about. The location, the interiors, the food & most importantly the people. Mr. Francis is a caring old gentleman who worked for The Taj (Vizag) before joining Tissa's & does know how to make his guests feel cared for. The place is owned by antique-exporter brothers & that reflects in the decor they've adorned this place with.

When we stayed at Tissa's it was a COMPLETE off season & hence it was a tad understaffed but the young lads at work ensured that every request was met with & that too in a timely manner. The food is amazing & served with a smile. Sanitha who looks after the front-desk is a very nice lady - all your airport transfers, Kathakali tickets & travel schedule can be left to her to make it hassle free!

All in all, I truly fell in love with this place so much so that I visited it on our return journey again for a night's stay. Kudos! I highly recommend this place!
