Stopped by this afternoon..had hummus and whole wheat toast, milk coffee..fresh juice..very very clean and they have a wonderful library ! Some amazing books and old classics. The owner, Farook, knows a lot about Kerala and was able to show me on a large map places to visit that I might like..he also let me borrow a book for a few days.. Nice relaxing place to go.. Will go back and try his other food sometime.. Very very clean! Recommend..

Tasty and inexpensive. Unpleasant location in general but no one else seems to have complained about it. I thought the masala tea and the scrambled eggs were especially good.

Great food (real French toast!) with beautiful fresh ingredients. Drinks very amazing, good coffee but especially the special lassi! Delicious!

Solar Cafe is a stylish, somewhat self-conscious cafe off Bazaar Rd. Fifteen foot ceilings, overhead fans, and cooling shades on the walls gives the place a chilled-out vibe. You want this at the start of the dry season in Cochin.

Food/drink highlights:

- Grape Lassi (strained fresh grape juice and yoghurt);
- French toast with aromatic wild honey; and
- Homemade muesli.

And, unlike in almost every so-called 'multi-cuisine' or restaurant serving International Backpacker Cuisine, the presentation at Solar Cafe was appetising.

Highly recommend this place.
