“Nice setting and good food”
Reviewed 8 March 2014

This restaurant is based at the back of an Antique Store overlooking the river. We got here at 1pm and were dissapointed to be told more than half the menu was not available because they had run out of ingredients.
The food we ordered would have fallen under 'dinner' rather than lunch and was tasty.

“Great shop with a good restaurant”
Reviewed 7 March 2014

Love love love this shop. I've always been a fan of architectural antiques and old stuff and this shop has rooms and rooms stacked full of interesting items. We bought, boy did we buy ! Just waiting for the shipment now...

The restaurant has a sea view and the food is nice. It complements the Ginger experience; shop and then drop in the restaurant. I think they should offer food and drink discounts depending on how much you spend on the antiques :)

“Ginger restaurant in a great location”
Reviewed 6 March 2014

For me the long snake boat in the shop was the highlight at this place. The location is really nice (don't forget your odomos) and the food selection looks quite good. Our food was good but not exciting but the ginger lassi is worth to drop in. If you want to eat something special like prawns for lunch then make sure you'll be there early. And consider that this place closes at 6:30 pm.

“Picturesque water view and the antique store”
Reviewed 25 February 2014

The place is just around the corner from the sinagogue and few minutes walk from the palace. We were first interested by the antique shop which leads to the cafe itself. the shop looks like a small museum holding South Indian articrafts from 100-200 years ago. Even if you dont plan to go to the cafe stop by to see a huge ancient fishing boat, which is displayed inside and is made to fit about a hundred of people inside. It is so huge, so we were wondering how the owners managed to fit it inside.
The cafe has a nice view and is good to have a cold drink after visiting major sights of the old town, but a bit pricey in terms of food. The quality of food was decent but not the best we had in India.

“Excellent food in a fascinating locale”
Reviewed 23 February 2014 via mobile

You go through what looks like an antique store, end up next to the sea in a wonderful restaurant called the Ginger house. I had excellent ginger prawns and we both enjoyed the food, the view and the store. nice and clean for tourists with good bathrooms.
