Dutch palace was ok. Old history repeated. Museum was very small. Jewish synagogue was good. Go if you like history. Lot of art ware shops. Shop with caution . Most are not genuine.

This is a very old palace. This used to be the residence of the royal family in Kerala. It is very old building and has been converted to a museum. It is great for people interested in history. Teenagers and youngsters may find this place very boring. Also the place is very crowded.

Royal displays of RAJA VERMA like palanquins and throne, costumes , mural paintings makes it interesting to visit the place. Decorated Ceilings reflected the style of the then Dynasty with highlights on paintaings of Hindu legend times like Ramayana and Mahabharata. Very educative and informative.

Mattancherry has a very special atmosphere with all the trading companies selling rice, flour and spices. Take a bike and follow the streets, it's the best way to experience how people work and live there.
Houses are quite old, but beautiful and special.
If you find some time, be sure to visit springR-café on Bazaar Street.
