This was our first visit to Cochin and we chose this hotel because of its location and the fact it is a Taj Hotel.
Yes it is a bit of a journey from the airport but it is worth the trip. When we arrived we were greeted by the staff, who were all very friendly and helpful.
The rooms in the Heritage wing where we stayed are very tastefully furnished, a good size and overlook the gardens out to the sea.
The hotel serve tea time snacks on the patio outside the restaurant at 5.00 pm. This is followed by a complimentary sunset cruise on a rice boat. The trip is around 1 hr and well worth doing. You get to see the port, the Chinese nets, Fort Kochi and the colourful fishing boats.
The hotel has a great infinity pool and well kept gardens. There is a spa but the gym is somewhat on the small size. However talking to the gym staff there are plans to increase the size.
The Hotel food is very good but I must compliment the staff in all the restaurants, particularly the chefs at the rice boat restaurant. The food was excellent. We ate fish here every night of our stay. You definitely get the feeling you are on a rice boat as the side windows look out on to the water!
We would like to give particular thanks to Suman Dutta Sharma...This was our first visit to Cochin and we chose this hotel because of its location and the fact it is a Taj Hotel.

We would like to give particular thanks to Suman Dutta Sharma the General Manager for his very generous hospitality. Further thanks must also go to several members of staff; Sunil Panicker, Rinku Sharma, Aquino Lopes, Arun Matthew, Durgesh Kumar, Ahilan, George, Sumesh and Anu. Without them our holiday would not have been so memorable.
Whist at the hotel I celebrated my birthday and I have to say, the day will live with me for ever, many thanks to everybody.More
