“Beautiful place, warm and friendly stay”
Reviewed 21 April 2014

After being in India and getting a good idea for the quality you associate with price, my expectations were set. This blew them out of the water. The place is wonderful, with a bright open sitting area, a dining area and 4 rooms off this (there are more rooms outside). They take heritage very seriously here. The rooms are immaculate, clean and every part of the building has character.
My partner has been coming here for several years, but this was my first visit. The owner is warm and incredibly generous. As cliche as it sounds, it really does feel like a home away from home.

A highlight of my trip, would definitely recommend to anyone who is looking for a relaxed stay in the heart of Fort Kochi for a great price!

Room Tip: My partner has stayed in both the outside rooms and the inside rooms, but if you ask for a room insi...

My family book this heritage residency last year. It was a fantastic place to stay for the price we payed. Not a fancy hotel, but the heritage environment adds luxury to the low prices. It is located at the center of fort kochi where everything is of walking distances. However, could be difficult to find if your cabbie does not know the way. Because it is located in a tiny street within fort kochi. The owners were great and provided with a good kerala breakfast. all in all highly recommended

We were looking for more spacious quarters as we intended to stay for over a week and by happenstance, we came across Chiramel. When we were shown the room on offer, there was never a doubt in our minds that we wanted to move in asap. To be honest the web advertisement of Chiramel with it's backlighting and other effects cheapens the joint; doesn't it justice. It's a really impressive spacious sanctuary with a expansive lounge off the rooms, to lob into for some R & R, very central, quiet and run by folk who are very gracious.

Room Tip: One of the rooms at the top, up the beautiful wooden stairs.

Nice , friendly people. Wooden floors and furniture. Heavy doors to the room, closed with heavy lock. At the room small separate place with the window and armchair - perfect for reading. Very quiet. We stayed there only one night but I think when staying longer in Fort Kochi – it’s a good choice. Only negative aspect were mosquitos in the bathroom. Positive aspects: located at very quiet little street, near good restaurants, not far from the touristic attractions and shopping street. Nice people served us the breakfast near our room (I think once it was a kind of parlour, see the picture). It was nice to eat in such stylish place.

I was referred this AM to this Heritage B&B and all I can say after staying at a nuimber of dreary, poor service hotels in south India, this has got to be one of the nicest places I have stayed at during my 6 weeks here . The rooms are nicely laid out, a good size and well furnished. The bathroom is also up to snuff and I had my first hot shower in about a week even though I am staying in mid-price places. It also is in a very quiet but central location in Fort Cochin, and as all India travelers know, it is almost impossible to get away from traffic and religious facility noise here. It is also spotlessly clean. If the coffee is good in the AM, this place is perfect.

Room Tip: I saw 3 rooms, and I have a feeling all the rooms are nice. I selectedthe one with the enclosed por...

Chiramel is a beautiful heritage home that has been in the family for generations. The rooms isn the main house are the originals with more rooms in the back of he building. We stayed in a smaller budget non/AC room in the main house but it was really comfortable, clean and great value over the busy holiday season. Asha the owner really took care of us and made us feel at home. It's a great location for exploring Fort Cochin and is on one of the quiter streets near the parade ground.

Room Tip: Try and book the rooms in the main house
