The hotel is located in a very good part of the town and so all the touristy attractions are close by. We found our room to be comfortable and we were generally well looked after. Breakfast could do with some more variety particularly if you stay several nights but apart from that it was an enjoyable stay. We missed not having a pool but you will have to shell out much more for that and some of the places with pools did not really look worth the extra amount.

We stayed at the Arches for 5 nights in November and had a great experience. The staff were wonderful. My wife had injured her ankle in Singapore just before we arrived in Kochi and the Arche's staff went out of their way to attend to her needs. They were very kind and helpful. The hotel is immaculate, the rooms comfortable and the A/C works great (a big deal in South India.) The dosa breakfasts taken on the rooftop restaurant were sublime. We have traveled to many countries in Europe and Asia and the Arches is now one of our all time favorites. A big thank you to everyone at the Arches.

Hotel Arches was fautless. A great location on a quiet street yet just around the corner from all the sights and the shops and restaurants. The service was great - Rajnish was most helpful. It was lovely to be welcomed with a flower garland and fresh coconut juice and we were able to get our room early and were also given breakfast at no extra charge, having arrived on an early morning flight. The room (we booked a deluxe) was quite spacious and simply but quite elegantly furnished and everything was spotless. The breakfast was very nice (although it was disappointing that there was no Indian food on offer) and served on a lovely roof terrace. The hotel has free internet (computer in hall) and wireless. We didn't try the restaurant as there were plenty of options around town. The decor was not as exotic as some other hotels but it still had character in a subtle way and it as also quite good value. I would definitely stay there again and would recommend the hotel to anybody.

We stayed at this nice hotel for 1 night in early November. We had unplanned
stay in Cochin and trusted TripAdvisor in hotel selection which was a right
decision. Fort Kochi itself is a marvelous place with more European than
Indian atmosphere. Arches' manager and staff are highly professional and
really helpful. Our friends came to the place late at night and were very
hungry. In spite of lateness of the hour and cook's absence they got hot tea
with sandwiches. Hotel has a beautiful restaurant on the roof with
spectacular view on centuries-old tries and St. Francis Church, which turned
to be a famous one. Breakfast is rather limited but tasty and served at a
time which is convenient to you. Hotel itself is very cozy and you do feel
yourself as if you were home. But to our mind it is a bit overpriced for a home-style 3-star hotel.

We chose Hotel Arches because of all the good reviews on Trip Advisor and we were not disappointed. The place is well managed (which is not always the case anywhere but especially in India) and very clean. The staff are welcoming and eager to please. I had to be up at 4.30am to catch an early flight and they brought me breakfast in my room at that time and organised check out and airport car for me with no problem at all. Breakfast is great and the roof terrace a lovely relaxing place to have it, listening to the crows squawking in the trees and enjoying the morning sun. The evening meals however are average and the dining room a bit soulless (though staff as ever delightful). You're better off eating elsewhere in town.

While it is not authentically Indian in a big way (in that there are other places that have a more traditional feel) Arches is hard to beat for cleanliness, reliability and helpfulness of the staff. I highly recommend it and would definitely stay there again.
