Our first stop in Cochin. The hotel is lovely, an old Colonial bungalow (gotta love the empire) with a wonderful garden compound, and a swimming pool, which we got to use! It's clean, and we had a very interesting open air shower which we shared with a little frog on the first night and a milipede on the second. The restaurant is also pretty good and I had my first Keralan fish curry here, which was very tasty. The staff are friendly, and it has a very relaxed atmosphere. The only tricky bit was the drive from the airport! I would definitely stay here again.

From the moment we stepped in to the Old Harbour Hotel, we felt so welcomed and relaxed. The setting is stunning - a wonderful blend of colonial history, tropical flora and decorated with a mixture of antique and modern flair. The staff could not have been more helpful and gave great advice and ensured we felt at home as well as serving up delicious food. The hotel is based in the heart of Fort Cochin - a great place to explore the area via boat, rickshaw, bus and walking. We would definitely recommend it to all and one and it was a fabulous place to start our honeymoon.

We had a wonderful stay here! It took a while to get through rush hour traffic from the airport but it was well worth the wait. The staff were extremely friendly, and our room was great. The hotel has an excellent menu, with a restaurant that looks into a garden.

Highly recommend.

My husband and I stayed at the Old Harbour for three nights as our first stop on a two-week trip around South India. The hotel had been recommended by friends and we had high expectations.

We were not at all disappointed- this is one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. If you're looking for something standard with a wide range of activities, then this probably isn't for you. But if you're after something relaxed with low-key luxury, I don't think you could find a better place.

The room- we were upgraded (for free) to the Palace Suite with a huge four-poster bed, sitting area, small veranda and spotless bathroom. It had a good view towards the sea and the Chinese fishing nets. The staff spread jasmine flowers around the room each day so it smelled amazing.

The hotel- the entrance / lobby area is very peaceful and a nice place to relax with a book or a beer. There is a lovely swimming pool in the garden. On the roof is a seating area (as it was monsoon when we visited this was not in use) but we did enjoy a free yoga session one morning there.

The food- a massive highlight of this hotel was that, not only was the place wonderful, but the food was excellent as well. There were a lot of Keralan dishes on the menu, including many fish and seafood options. We ate at another high end hotel in Kochi one evening but the food at Old Harbour was the best we had on our Indian trip. Breakfasts were also very good (western and Indian both on offer). And the staff were exceptionally helpful and kind.

All in all, I can't recommend this hotel highly enough. There are much cheaper options around but - for the quality and experience - this felt like very good value.

This hotel truly lived up to expectations. All off the staff were very helpful and could do more for us.

The rooms were great. Very Indian to look at with Jasmine flowers on our bed when we arrived. The bathrooms exceeded our expectations with a great wet room shower and all the bathroom products you would expect from the very best hotels.

The restaurant was excellent for both breakfast and dinner and good value.

Finally, it was all set in a lovely garden with an excellent pool.

Room Tip: Pleased to say we saw no poor rooms.

Expensive but amazing! Very western style in in amenities and the staff: perfect English and hospitality. You wont find any coackraoches or messed up food orders here.
The pool is also the best in Cochin ( I live here so have checked all of them out,....literally). Its huge and surrounded by lush greens.
the food looks good too although I didn't eat any.
Overall perfect service, beautiful interior and very comfortable.

At the heart of ancient Fort Cochin, Kerala, a place that exudes history and culture, is the 'Old Harbour Hotel.' A 300 year-old building that has for long been a heritage monument of this town, now reopened as a boutique hotel.
