We loved our stay so much at Fort Cochin & at this guesthouse. Stayed here in December 2013 with my boyfriend. So..we ended up in Fort Cochin by mistake...from Goa we had caught the wrong train (initially we had planned to end up in Hampi). We arrived late at night, dead tired, hungry, without bookings, etc....all this after a 15 hour train trip. Thanks God we found these people. Luckily someone was fixing something in their road at night and this guy suggested that we stay at the guesthouse. Agish (the main guy in charge) gave us food in the middle of night. He was sleeping when we arrived, but when I asked for food because we were dying ..he gladly went to the kitchen himself and prepared it. Thank you Agish :) We thought to stay 1 night & take it from there the next day but ended up staying there for 6 nights..we loved it so much. The people over here are so amazing, friendly and very helpful. Agish already mentioned and Sudha ...a lovely woman, now a friend :) who is always ready and willing to help. They helped us with booking flights, trips and also helped us with our travelling plans for our remaining time in India, not only in Fort Cochin. Also planned for us a day trip to Munnar....which was great. We didn't have the time to spend days in Munnar so we decided to go for a day trip. We left very early so we then can enjoy a full day there. Our taxi driver who stayed with us all day was 'Ram'. Very nice decent man. They also organised a day trip to the backwaters tour and we enjoyed it a lot as well. The room was very comfortable and clean. Hot water was available all the time. They have options of non a/c and a/c rooms - the non a/c rooms have fans. However, I suggest to choose an a/c room - it's worth the extra cost because it can get really hot and funnily enough mostly at night. Wi-fi is available all the time as well at no extra cost and also there is an internet cafe' just opposite (very convenient). We almost ate every day at the guesthouse. Food is homely cooked by Agish himself. It was always amazing. Only minutes by walk there is the 'Kerala Kathajali Centre' - not to to miss the Martial Arts Show , the Kathakali Show and I also went to the Morning Ragas session. Tickets can always be arranged at the guesthouse. The only sad part of this visit was.....when we had to leave ... :) we didn't want to leave ...but it was time to move on !! miss the place and people so much. Would definitely be back if we get the chance.

We booked it through cleartrip but the caretaker didn't received any info about our stay. Sujatha, the owner worked herself to clean couple of rooms in 15 min and make it available to us. A very kind and modest lady. Room was fine and spacious. Best part was that it was right in the heart of Fort Kochi. We just walked in and checked out easily early morning without much issues of checking out. I booked for 3 people and i was given an extra room for fourth person without any extra charges. I guess, no one really shows so much care as we got while we were there. Thanks Sujhata and her staff.

Really kind and helpfull stuff - good people. The hotel itself is a little run-down but ok. The room was a little naked, like most indian tourists seem to prefer. There were a lot of mosquitoes in the (non-AC) room, so we had to hang our own mosquito-net above the bed. The shower has sprinkled the whole bathroom but only few on the person who wanted to shower.

We stayed here for one night with another couple. Good layout and nicely decorated, with two communal areas. Bedroom and bathroom are OK and have that backpacker vibe.
The residency is located on the main road about a 5 minute stroll to the fishing nets and restaurants.
Room gets very hot.
We organised a backwater stay through the manager and were very pleased with what we got for our money.

I stayed here at Paddikal for two nights, cause where I was staying was booked for the nights to come. I was surprised to find that as night at Padikkal cost me twice as less than where I stayed previously.
Sushil is an amazing manager, got me tickets for a backwater tour and traditional dance, and the staff here are very friendly. The room was pretty neat considering I was staying alone. Highly reccommend to all budget travelers going to Ft Kochi.
thanks Sushil for the pleasant stay.

We recently stayed here 8 nights and it was perfect! Love the staff, who were always so friendly and incredibly helpful. Every morning Ajish, who was running the hotel while we were there would ask us our plans for the day, and offering suggestions, advice, etc.. He is one of the coolest guesthouse managers we've met. Nothing was ever a problem!! The guesthouse, located in Fort Cochin has an instant warm, relaxing and homely feel to it as soon as you walk in through the large front entrance. The location is ideal, within short walking distance to everything, but also extremely well priced. The restaurant is great, and although we like to try different places to eat, we always had breakfast at Padikkal, and often came back for evening meals also. Loved it - and would highly recommend as an awesome place to stay.
