The lamp is lit and glows after several decades even now. The temples give a good feel. Great place if you are a shiva Bhakt

“A spiritual expereince”
Reviewed 28 July 2014

Although not a hindu, I quite liked the way the traditional hindu rituals are followed in this famous temple, which was not too far from our place. I was pleasantly surprised by the religious tolerance by the people of kerala. They had no problems for 2 white people walking around in their temple at all. They even offered to show us how to do the worship and the details behind many statues and hanging lamps.

“Traditional and peaceful”
Reviewed 11 July 2014

Recently had been there during my trip to Thekkady and Kumarakom. It was an auspicious day I think and some special pooja was going on along with the chants of priests and traditional kerala drums.

It was like a festival where everyone wore kerala dhothis and women clad in white sarees!! Too good.

“BEAUTIFUL TEMPLE”
Reviewed 10 June 2014

We visited the temple in the last week of May.The temple premise is spacious and it was not very crowded on the day of our visit so we had peaceful time for offering prayers. We were informed that Mahatma Gandhiji visited this temple and sat on satyagraha to ensure that people of all castes were allowed access to the temple.
