The ride to this hotel takes you through narrow streets and while we wondered what kind of hotel we may end up in, a nice gated hotel showed up. Its construction on the hills was quite unique. With no elevators and easy walkways, it is not possible to roll your luggage to the rooms, but they provide manpower all the time to do the heavy lifting for you. A friendly reception staff greeted us with juice and garland and check-in was a breeze. There is a nice swimming pool in the garden where you will be walking amongst the spice plantations. The area becomes dark after sunset which is a good thing because the rooms had balcony overlooking the garden where you can sit down to have a nice tea (beer) and play some games with your family. They have an on-site restaurant and a game room. Since the town is not within walking distance, your options for spending night times are restricted to such leisurely activities available at the hotel. If you have a car, you can venture a few kms to see the city and enjoy the variety of local food. Thekkady has a lot to offer including elephant rides and the national park. If you walk through the spice plantations inside the hotel garden, there is no need to get cheated by 400 rupees per person for spice plantation tours offered by many local companies here because they show similar plants in their gardens for a fee and nothing more than that.

staff is very friendly and polite. rooms face a valley which really makes its locale very exotic. the pool is a long way down, seemed too far to me to even go check it out. very relaxing esp since we had a hectic day at the periyar sanctuary. my regret is that we stayed only one night and hence didnt have time to enjoy all the amenities the hotel offers

Nice resort, good interiors of rooms, excellent service and maintenance, good food.. Nice view from balcony.. The only inconvenience we faced was that after sunset, we had nothing good to do than to just eat & sleep,as it got really dark & scary in balcony (you can hear screaming NOT chirping sounds of birds & other nocturnals) and on TV only south Indian channels were coming.. No Hindi OR English channel..

Apart from that very in midst of nature... Excellent for those who want to experience wilderness of Thekkady..

Will definitely visit next time..

A true resort in the middle of nowhere- your room seems to step out of a dense jungle, while at the same time remaining a part of a storeyed bungalow, red-roofed with earthy-colored walls. Hotel staff greet you into the wooden interiors of the lobby as they put sweet-smelling garlands of jasmine around your neck. As an architecture student, I particularly loved the texture and hues of the interiors and the furniture of the lobby as well as the rooms- it was all done well. Our primary concern was cleanliness- and at Wild Corridor, that was rightly ensured! Even the balcony views of the rooms were breathtaking!
Our main issue with Wild Corridor was that we had booked two rooms (pax: 3+2), and we were a travelling with a senior citizen (which they were aware of). Despite this, we were offered, underground level rooms in separate bungalows and so it was difficult for my grandfather to use the stairs and walkfrom the room to the main part of the hotel and back, and especially during heavy monsoons (mid-July 2013).
Also, the food at Wild Corridor’s Durbar Restaurant has much room for improvement- the cuisine wasn’t all that out of the ordinary, and the menu lacked variety. There was no buffet for breakfast. Honestly, they could do better to match upto their standards.
The hospitality was truly impressive, though. Polite staff never failed to please us, particularly the desk-boy- who so nicely showed us around the well-stocked gift shop Spices and Gifts and also helped us determine some tourist information. Once while leaving our room, an aged watchman performed the sweetest gesture- he held his umbrella over my grandfather and accompanied him all the way from our bungalow to the main part of the resort where the restaurant was located!

Room Tip: Avoid rooms in the basement and the first floor so that one can better enjoy the jungle valley view...

I would strongly recommend this hotel. You feel you are in the midst of the jungle. At night, you here all the noices that emanate from jungle. Rooms were fantastic with a balcony that gives you view of the valley with forest. Exotic food was served all through our stay for 3 days. Staff was very coordial. Overall superb experience. Will certainly revisit this hotel whenever I will travel to Thekkady.
