“Good One!”
Reviewed 24 April 2014 via mobile

Was reluctant to try this for a very longtime. Then decided to give it a try with my family. I was not let down, or I'd say was rather pleased by the variety of food. The ambience is also nice. Kappa Biriyani was awesome and also the fish items. Traditional Kerala dishes, North Indian and Chinese are on the menu. Go for the 'Nannari' sherbet after you are done.

“Great Ambience, Alright food!”
Reviewed 13 April 2014

As a tourist in TVM, who's never able to find the perfect restaurant to eat at, Curry Chatty seemed like a good option. Great music, good lighting, perfect ambience. We ordered the chicken perattu, chicken korma, chicken in oyster sauce, cherrata puttu and butter naan. Food was good, but as i said ambience was better, It's a good place to visit if you're in TVM for the first time. They've put effort into the interiors and everything looks lovely. But the food could be better!

“Avoidable restaurent”
Reviewed 2 April 2014

Based on the positive reviews seen from Tripadvisor web-portal, me and my wife decided to try out a dinner from Curry chatty.
We reached there by 9 PM and the hotel security guided us to park the car along the road (as only a few cars could be accommodated in front of the hotel building).
On entering, we found the building was an old house renovated to bring in ambiance of a hotel.
The place is neat and clean enough for a middle class family to go in and have food.

We were given a menu card to select our pick of dishes.
After going through various new items listed, we decided to try some seafood.
Ordered a chicken soup + spicy seafood curry only to hear back from waiter that none of the items in that section (except the ordered soup) was available.
Then we went ahead to look in to another section and the waiter interrupted us and told that only available items were one type fish curry, idiappam (tradition Kerala rice noodles) and "Kerala paratha" (made of "maida", an unhealthy food compound).
Having left with no other option, we went ahead and ordered a soup, idiappam and fish curry.
Idiappams were smaller than usual and the fish curry was tasty enough, but minimal quantity.
After having food, I felt that these are a bunch of guys who are capable enough to make good and tasty food, but for some reasons going out of business.
They charge exorbitantly for the dishes and we left the hotel with partially filled stomach.

What I liked:
1. The ambiance
2. Location of the hotel (away from all the noise at least during the night)
3. Taste of food (though we were forced to order what was available)

What I didn't like:
1. Food options (very limited - in fact one may find that menu card is useless)
2. Quantity of food (too less for the price charged)
3. Seating is a bit crammed
4. Less parking options (I was lucky to get a parking space along the road since it was night time and there were not many vehicles along the road)

Conclusion:
I will not recommend this restaurant as I feel that the food is overpriced with no real good options.
At this price point, you can go to a handful of nearby (2 KM radial dist) hotels and enjoy various other options.

“It used to be a good place, but...”
Reviewed 12 March 2014

The first time we went there, we enjoyed the ambience and the food. It was an enjoyable experience and I recommended to some of my friends. About 4 months later we visited again and this time, the degradation in quality, taste, and appeal was evident. Moreove, there was a cockroach flying around distracting us and keeping us on the edge wondering if it will land on the food. Finally one waiter came and disposed of it. So definitely we couldn't enjoy the food.
