“Historic place to know what a kingdom was”
Reviewed 26 December 2013

Its beautiful and very well maintained more than 200 years old palace. Entire palace is made of rose wood. Its better to go with a guide, they will be available inside the temple, with no cost. They described about kingdom and palace very well. You would get to know what is the real royal or king size life style.

“Must see”
Reviewed 18 December 2013

Also known as Puthen Palace. The Kuthiramaliga is a palace of the erstwhile Travancore kings, adjacent to the Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple. It faces the Padmatheertham, the Holy Tank of the temple. The building is a cool and shady retreat from the bustling heat of the city. You have to take off your footwear to enter the palace. The most interesting exhibits in the museum is the crystal throne and the ivory throne of the maharajas

“Unbelievable collection of historical items”
Reviewed 21 August 2013

Though a very old palace, I felt this is being well maintained and the guide did a wonderful job of explaining each and every item that we came across in the museum. The most impressive ones were the chairs made out of ivory and imported crystal. Yet another useful place of tourist attraction.
