Owner description: A Vishnu temple with a massive fort gateway has been built in Dravidian style and is closed to non-Hindus.

The handsome Padmanabhaswamy Temple, dedicated to Vishnu, has a seven-tier gopuram.
This 260-year-old temple is Trivandrum’s spiritual heart.
In the main courtyard there's intricate granite sculpture, supplemented by more stonework on the nearly 400 pillars supporting the temple corridors.
In the inner sanctum, the deity Padmanabha reclines on the sacred serpent and is made from over 10,000 salagramam (sacred stones) that were purportedly transported from Nepal by elephant.
The complex is technically open only to Hindus and keeps erratic hours, so call ahead to be assured of at least a glimpse.

The temple is such a beautiful temple and exudes a serene aura. Totally felt at home. Security is very strict and also devotees need to follow the strict dress code of saree for female devotees and dhoti for male devotees.

This is a very old temple. Recently it was in news for huge amount of treasure found. However, this is a beautiful temple with wonderful architecture. Also, the place is nicely managed and very clean. You would be awed by the enormity of the temple and its architecture.
