recently went to ganpatiphule. beach is dirty and crowded.MTDC guest house has badly kept rooms.the toilets need serious attention.suggestion:find another beach resort.
the only saving grace about this place is hotel ''SAMIR''.great food, cooked by ladies of the house.

We heard a lot about this place so , as travel freak we are , we took a weekend break to Ganpati pule from Pune ,
Roads - (320 Kms) 6 Hrs .took Pune Bangalore Highway up till Karad and from there to Shahuwadi , this route has some beautiful landscapes while driving.
Stay - Nishi's Tranquility Beach resort . Good part was it was just next to the beach , which was not at all crowded even on weekends , Sad part is the stay , rooms were not properly maintained.
We had a great evening and late night at beach , Quite Peaceful . Few pics for you all.

We visited this place from Dec 31, 2011 till Jan 2, 2012 and stayed there in a hotel close to MTDC hotel.

Although the hotel rooms and facilities are passable, the reason for visiting this place is the Ganpati temple and the serene beach.

We had local Maharashtrian veg. food which was good.

We are looking forward to our next visit this Dec.

Konkan is at the backyard of Mumbaikars, who look for getaways, given the hustle and bustle that city offers. Among splendourus beaches of Konkan, my favourite is "ganapatephule ", unlike Goa which is soo hyped and commercialised , this beach still is virgin and some resorts in the place without altering the panoromic natural landscape provides you comforts and amenities .
On the shores of the peach is a beautiful temple of Lord ganesha, it is made of red stone and unlike many temples in india, has its shine and glow. on a full moon night, the view is so magnificent.
the terrain of Ganpati phule is hilly, Many of the hotels overooking the beach from an altitude.
The view of coconut glades and clean beach is breathtakingly beautiful. unlike other commercial places, this place is an idelgetawy for someone who wants respite, peace and loves serinity.
The beach is not very very safe for swimming, except the portions closer to temple.
two decent places to stay are MTDC and hotel Abhishek . MTDC is bang opposite the beach and you can hear the sea roar or silently move . the cateres are also decent. it has a vast expanse . HOtel ABHishek is on ahillock and yourbalconies offer a view from an altitude you can sit andread a book and gazeat the sea endlesssly.
on the beach there are little activities camel ride ,boat ride for children.
BUt just taking along walk on the beach is wonderful.
3-4 days are enough.it is afor spiritual quest and fun. definitely worth a vist.
the drive from MUmbai to konkan is very scenic . winters and Monsoon are a great period.

I visited ganapatiphule in January this year, with my family. The resort has a great location, and has a good choice of rooms. It is also spread out over a large aea, and located right on the beach. The restuarant has a reasonably good selection and service is quite prompt. And for all those who want to just walk to the temple, it is a good choice. The temple is just adjoining the resort.

It is one of the best places to stay in Ganapatiphule. Distance from Mumbai is nearly 400kms, and takes 10 hours to reach by road ( via Mahad). January is a good month - the sky is clear, and tourists are less, as it is just after the peak season is over.
