Owner description: Spectacular rock cut caves and elaborate sculptures of Hindu, Buddhist and Jain faiths are over 10 centuries old.

Amazing architecture. Visit July to December. should be a wonder of the world. Several caves but the best one is the Kailash temple. It is a testimony to secular architecture as it has Buddhist Jain and Hindu temples built from the 3rd century onwards. Wonderful carvings on the walls of varips deities. After this the Ajanta caves can be visited.

spent 2hrs at caves and there are well worth seeing, don't take any notice of tuk tuks at entrance all caves are within walking distance even 33 and 34, we did not have a guide but they are available just be sure to haggle a bit.
We started at caves 1 to 15 leaving the big one until last.
Arrived at 10am and was fairly quiet no queues or big groups.
Paid 1200inr for taxi for day which included going to Fort as well.

Ellora Caves is at a 20 minutes drive from the main city of Aurangabad. There are 36 caves. It is also amazing to hear that all these cases are cut out of a single rock. Some caves have two floors! Many of these caves are dedicated to Jainism and some to Hinduism. To capture a part of its beauty requires a 100% battery charged camera.
