“The best trek in Malavali”
Review of Visapur Fort

Visapur Fort
Ranked #49 of 294 things to do in Pune
Attraction details
Reviewed 9 June 2014

Visapur is a much tougher treak than most of the other hills in its vicinity. Especially in the monsoons, its a climb up a waterfall. Absolutely breathtaking. Also, because of the tougher route, there is hardly any public. Much better than Lohgad.

It is a good place to visit during monsoon or in post monsoon. This fort is close by Malavali station nearby Bhaje caves. Trek begins from the Malavali Railway station and a lot of trekkers from Pune and Mumbai visit this fort in monsoon time. Climbing till the top of fort takes around 2 to 2.5 hours from Malavali.
There are 2 ways to reach fort. One is from Gomukh Khind and take left at khind. After km walk, you will find small hut. Take left route after hut and after 10 ft walk take another left which is small trek route.
Second trek route is from Patas village. After Crossing bridge (on expressway way near Malavali station) take left for Patas village. Its better to hire local villager as route is bit confusing. Else stick close to waterfall which will take you to top. First route goes to dens forest which is nice experience.
On Fort, you can see Fort walls, Hanuman temple, ruined parts of Forts. Fort area is too vast and it takes around 1 to 1.5 hours to see the places from fort. From this fort you can see other forts like Lohagad, Tikona and Tung.
Food is available at base village of Lohagad fort which is hardly few km away from Visapur base.
If you are trekker or history lover then you should visit this place.

A real hiking experience near Pune. This place is must visit during Monsoon. It gives a treasure hunt experience and treasure here is final destination of fort. During Monsoon, road from the dense forest gives memorable experience and awesome climate welcomes you making sure you leave behind all your worries. This is easy to medium level trek but make sure you are in group. Don't try to climb down the fort at night. Its difficult to find way during return.
