“Breathtaking view of the city skyline”

Taljai Tekdi is for those who want to escape the city life for just a couple of hours, perhaps, to think peacefully in the quiet. Situated at a height of 2,000 feet, the road to this hill passes through Shivaji Maratha College campus. Perfect for bikers, the mountain path is quite smooth with sharp turns {so, be careful} and has the most stunning views ever.

There’s nothing much to do out here except taking long walks through the dense forest and watching the sunset with your partner. Taljai is full of greenery, relatively cooler than the main city and extremely peaceful. Some of the locals informed us that one may spot peacocks and other migratory birds out here, especially during monsoons. What’s more? There is a quaint temple at the entrance of the hills and a jogging track that’s open between 5.00 am and 9.00 am, and from 4.30 pm to 7.00 pm.

There are a few streetside food kiosks at the foothill that sell lip-smacking grub; from crispy onion fries to corn on the cob, healthy bitter gourd and fruit juices, coconut water and more.

So.. this place has been our favorite childhood picnic place. Clean, welcoming and offered a good climb. THEN. In recent times, however, anti-social elements have tampered the place making it unsafe and scary. heard a few disturbing robbery cases here. So beware!!

Serenity right in the middle of the city. Head there in the morning for a great workout, or visit with family & kids to check out the forest area. Nearby temple enhances the vibe of the place.

Beautyful hill with small temple of goddess on hill top. Many people come here for walking. Good tar road available. Walking here is experience as dense trees are planted here. Good view of city from here.
