“Pathetic - Worst experience ever in a hotel”
Reviewed 19 February 2014

I was travelling to Bikaner during 15th and 16th of Feb '14. I had taken a train which reached Bikaner around 8am and I was there outside the hotel by 8:30am which was around 3.30 hrs earlier to the normal checkin time. The freaking old creep who seemed to be the owner flatly said that I would have to pay 500 extra for reaching earlier since he has to adjust room for me. When I checked the hotel apart from 3 rooms all were vacant, so he just had to open a room for me. This is all the adjustments he had to do and he charged 500 for the same. Also the kind of language he used was "Take it or the door is behind you, I can't help you at all". This is the most pathetic experience for me and my wife, we have trotting across the country since years now and this is the worst owner we have come across in a city we went to travel. I also have clicked the hotel room photos, just dont have a link in this feedback form to post the same.
Suggestion to travellers :
1. Go to this hotel only if you don't get booking anywhere which is least likely as there are plenty in Bikaner.
2. Also this is more than 3 kms from railway station and hardly there are any conveyance post 6 pm since its on the Jaipur highway.
3. No food joints around and the hotel food though freshly cooked is very oily and spicy with strikingly high service taxes.
4. The room service guy is not available most of the times so don't press the bell to call him, its better you do a manual search for him.

Hotel Padmini Niwas is good budget hotel, I stayed here on 28/12/13. Hotel owner Mr. Dilip Singh is wholesole manager, service taker and everything. For one night stay this hotel is excellent. Food is home like. Rooms are big size. resort type hotel. no floors. Tarriff are 1200 per night.

Room Tip: For one night stay this hotel is best. In winter season turn on Water Heater in night.

Do not expect much and this might be the budget hotel you're looking for in Bikaner. staying alone, I booked for 700 bucks a night in Oct 2013, I got a normalish room with a TV which wasn't working. When i enquired (there are only two people taking care, one manager and another housekeeper) I was told TV will not work and we cannot get it replaced or repaired now.You will find only one of them at a time if you're looking for something. The tuck shop behind the building is amazing and has Internet too. I would classify the
Pros and Cons like this :

Pros :

1. Peaceful environment around the hotel. Away from the hustle bustle of the city.
2. Nice big lawn outside. Im not sure you would use it though, unless travelling with kids & family.
3. Good price if you're low on budget.
4. Small tuck shop behind the building. Has Internet, Water bottle, chips Cold drink, and some nice people.
5. Liquor store available nearby.

Cons:
1. Staff are only 2. With only 1 of them available at one time. So do not expect a royal welcome or treatment even when you're in the Royal State of India.
2. Area low on connectivity.Try to return by 9 or you would be paying triple for the auto rickshaws The city anyway winds up by 9 so you wont have anywhere to go late nights.
3. No Geyser
4. No TV
5. Swimming Pool as read in other reviews is kept empty and is not functional.
6. Not easy to spot while driving up the Jaipur Road.

Overall, I would go again but only when I'm running very low on money. You will find a lot of options better than this.

Room Tip: Not many options for rooms. But try to get a room facing the Fake swimming pool. Other side doesn...

Nice, quiet hotel, with helpful staff. Rooms were big and clean. Bathrooms and toilets were quite spacious and very hygienic. We had a good time except the fact that there was a power cut which lasted for at least 2 hours when we arrived in a sweaty condition and there was no back up. The place is located near the main tourist attractions and market- still provides the calmness and serenity needed after a day in the heat and chaos of the city.

Room Tip: Even non AC rooms come equipped with air coolers.

The best thing I liked was that the hotel though located very near to the main market and the Junagarh Fort, was situated in an extremely peaceful and serene surroundings. Very spacious rooms- with even the non AC ones having Air Coolers installed, good garden and a small swimming pool too. The staff was extremely helpful - served excellent food and gave good tips to visit around the city. The place provides easy and convenient transport options for almost all parts of the city too. Since it is located in a residential area, the hotel provides a very peaceful setting, which is a bless after a chaotic day in the old city.

Room Tip: Even the non AC rooms come with an Air Cooler installed.

We stayed in the hotel with 2 kids(total 7 people) and really found that it was a good option. The restaurant was excellent to offer free breakfast with plenty of items and with very professional service. The rooms was good and clean. Mind it, this is not obvious that everyone will be happy as other says in there review but what we got there, the effort to make us happy. Moreover, the open garden in front of the property added a nice leisure time. The area is quiet while plenty of autos and other vehicles are available. There is one ATM available near the hotel. If I make another visit to Bikaner, my first choice will be this. This is not only for me but also from my family.

rooms are very dirty. ac are very old and noisy. blankets are not cleaned properly. bath tub is very very unhygienic. no proper option for mobile charging. only two sockets were available in room one was engaged was refrigerator and other was engaged with tv. so there was no provision for mobile charging. Hotel Owner is very rude. His behavior is not gentle. room service was also poor. Food serving was not available in room. Only good thing was that hotel surroundings was very quite. so it can be choose if you want to only rest in room. overall not a good hotel. i will not suggest this hotel to anyone
