A very well made hotel - is equipped with all modern amenities but still gives a Royal Heritage look.We were 3 couples & stayed for 2 nights. The first floor rooms have a wide open passage & we were lucky to see full moon setting at 6.15 am & you get to see beautiful sunrise at 7.15am.
It was a unique sight.
Rooms are very large & very comfortable and bathrooms are quite modern with Tubs.
It is about 3 km away from the city but easily reachable by auto.It has a nice garden path perfect for a morning walk right around the hotel. All in all a nice & quiet location.

Room Tip: Choose Rooms on 1st floor facing fort.

The hotel has good architect but looks very sad when you come to know that the hotel does not have 24hrs running hot water. Also ants and insects are found in bathrooms. The property is not managed well. The food is very sad. Menu is good but half of the things are not valuable in the hotel. Would suggest to stay in Hotel Gateway/BRYS Fort which is at same price and managed by Taj Group so service/food would be excellent.

Not worth to even experience it.

Dear Mr Mahek,

First of all like to thank you for choosing Desert Tulip for your 02 nights stay during your visit to Jaisalmer. First of all like to feel sorry that you were not satisfied with our hotel services/ food etc etc, we as a team try to satisfy each and every single guest who come to stay with us but it is human nature we can not satisfy all of them. I am surprised that you stayed with us for 02 days even when you were not satisfied with our services/food /rooms etc etc, you could have experience the other hotels before suggesting to others.
Looking forward for your next visit to us.

Thanks & Regards

We stayed here last week of December for two nights.

This property is very easy to lcoate - on Jodhpur highway, next to Gateway Rawalkot. Sam sand dunes are about 40 kms from this place.

Property has a heritage look and has good amenities - wi-fi, gym, swimming pool.Very large property with a swimming pool in the middle... nicely done up and large rooms...very clean and hygienic.

Avoid Tents - They also have tents within the campus; we stayed in room for one night and tent for one night. However, the tents are very small and basic - no plug points/sockets, a/c, tv, bathrooms are very very basic; tents are not even made air-tight...in the night it becomes really cold. We requested for a heater after looking at the tent - management provided the same quickly.

Breakfast buffet was good with lots of options - but the menu was repetitive...they need to offer variety in this menu. Dinner buffet also has limited options; non vegetarians would be disappointed - very few non-veg options available. person managing the restaurant (didn't get his name) was excellent; service staff was polite and courteous. Dinner was charged at Rs. 650/- per head...not at all VFM given the menu on offer.

All in all - a good property but needs improvements.

Room Tip: Dont stay in tents....rooms are excellent

Dear Parag ji,

Nice to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us during your recent visit to Jaisalmer and thanks for taking to writing your experience with us. It is true our tents are basic with no AC, as these are only from Oct to Feb month. Yes we do have sockets for charging, 02 near bed side and 1 in bathroom.
We will look into the food menu and assure you will best of the menu during your next visit to us.

I stayed there for three nights during Dec 2013. It's a nice hotel with very polite and courteous staff .The room was equipped with all the standard amenities and the, stay was comfortable . Breakfast was good and normal but has scope for improvement with respect to the menu .the non vegetarian Indian dishes offered for lunch/ dinner were superb . In terms of a resort , the hotel lacked indoor activities both for adults and kids.
