Worth a trip outside of town to see especially near sunset. If you enjoy photography you will be able to take some nice picture. There is a wind farm in the distance, which did not bother me as it did some. Point the camera the other way and turn you back if they bother you. I actually liked them. To each his own.

The ride from town was 10 minutes or so each way and we spent maybe 45 minutes there. Unless you are a National Geographic photographer 1 hour or a bit more including the drive is probably enough time for most.

A beautiful location having some 133 odd cenotaphs or tombs or "Chhatris" as the locals call it. This is carved in sandstone, each tomb dedicated to the royal family. You are not supposed to climb into the cenotaphs since each tomb seems to be dedicated to a deity. The cenotaphs are split between ones which on the ground and ones which are are higher up where you can reach post doing some skillful climbing.

You get a beautiful view of the gardens next to it as well as the adjoining wind mill farm something which you would see a lot en route to Jaisalmer as well as to Bada Bagh.

Suggestion is to do this location when you are planning to visit the Sam Dunes for your desert safari.

Great place to visit for keen photographers and history seekers. It has beautiful cenotaphs dedicated to the various royal family members of Jaisalmer carved out of the beautiful golden sand stone.

The place of Royal Cenotaph is a nice place to visit. Many mantaps (I read somewhere 133) are seen. The view from this elevated place is nice. As we went there, we got a bonus of nice sunset from this place. There is a large Windmill Farm seen from here.

We visited this wonderful Royal tomb site and found ourselves alone there which made it even more atmospheric. About 10 minutes by rickshaw outside Jaisalmer it is very much a must see. 133 tombs of Raj royalty lie here on a ridge facing the sunset and the dawn. Lovely sandstone carved tombs.
