We visited this hotel in december. First impression was very nice as the hotel looks like a palace from outside. But as they say, don't count on the first impression :) The hotel was virtually empty, and the rooms even though large were dated and not clean. Bathrooms were very dirty and bathtub in particular was very bad.

On the positive side, staff were helpful and friendly. Food was nice, though expensive. This hotel feels like a case of great potential sqandered because of poor maintenance.

Stayed: December 2013, travelled with family

jst walked in & Had one night stay in December. Nice to experience old heritage property from jaisalmer royal family..even you must have witnessed the same property in color serial "Rang Rassiya"
Very spacious rooms but old & not-much-maintained property, so expect some cement or white wash smell in rooms
Breakfast is good.
Tariff what I paid 3k per night :Worth.

Don't expect elegant look or modern amnesties.

Few ground floor rooms don't have windows: no ventilation. Please avoid these rooms

In January 2014 the whole hotel (except for our 3 rooms) was booked for a marriage party. It seems that all the staff was busy with the party and didn't care about the other guests (us). The rooms are large but dated.
Every bathroom has a sticker, asking to preserve the scares resources in this desert area (water). But when you need hot water, it seems to come from miles away and it takes ages before it gets hot. Could be solutioned by simply installing a small boiler in every bathroom.
At reception they say that wifi is available in the whole hotel, but in reality you can only get it in the lounge (and even there it didn't work).
For dinner, we had to give our orders from the bedroom. A waiter came to one of our rooms with just one menu card. Tandoori food was not available.
This could be a nice hotel but it definitely needs a better management.
No value for money!

This hotel has a great deal of potential but unfortunately slips on a number of categories. The rooms are extremely dated, there is no/very little hot water, the rooms are freezing (we were there in the winter) and have no options for heating (although i did manage to procure a very small and ineffective heater from the manager), the bathrooms are dated, worn, and actually fairly unpleasant although not 'dirty' in the classic sense. There is also no noise-proofing so if the hotel is busy the rooms are very loud - take earplugs. The staff are very pleasant but inexperienced, untrained, and just have no clue. All in all a bit Fawlty towers. There are better options in Jaiselmer!

Room Tip: Do not stay on the top floor rooms if the hotel is busy as people go to the roof terrace and you hea...

Excellent place, great room service and decent food. Quite happy with my stay, would recommend it.
Staff was very accommodating and swift. The swimming pool is beautifuul, the entire property is like a dream. The rooms were huge and clean. I woke up one day to find horses roaming around!
Hoping to come back to Jaisalmer and stay in this palace again (:

Clean room lovers do not book jawahar niwas palace. Lack of enough and professional staff. This hotel is belongs to king but not star category hotel. It's like guest house. There are much better hotels with less tariff. In this tariff you got luxury hotel in jaisalmer.

Stayed there for 2 days with my family to my visit to Rajasthan. The view and the palace was amazing and i was really very happy . But as the room service person came in while preparing the beds he was watching the television in front of us. The food is terribely expensive! Needed immediate maintenance. Poorly maintained bathrooms, dusty rooms.A TRUE REVIEW.
