“Beyond one's most expansive dreams of India”
Reviewed 11 January 2014

From the moment you enter the Shreenath Palace you know that this is no ordinary hotel. It is, as you soon find out, the home of a family who have lived there for generations and now opened their home to some privileged guests. And believe me you are privileged to be there. The rooms are exquisite - original Rajastani furnishings and wooden shuttered windows looking over the the Jain temple. Marsala Chai in your room on on the roof or downstaris basking in the hosts' hospitality. Om -ji - the father and his sons and cousins - will do everything within their power and then some more to ensure you have an experience that is filled with all that is wonderous about Jaislamer. If you were to ask me two hotels to visit in India - one would be the Imperial Hotel in Delhi and the other would be this one. The only down side is the ache in your heart when you leave.

My husband and I stayed for 2 nights at this haveli on our honeymoon. We really enjoyed our stay. The owner is a lovely man with a big personality and is very helpful and welcoming. Hindu also looked after us extremely well and nothing was too much trouble. We had delicious indian breakfasts in our room each day. Our room was beautiful and very traditional (a little cold but the cold snap was unusual for Jaisalmer and the havelis are not built for cold weather!). We felt like we experienced true indian hospitality during our stay. I would highly recommend staying here if you want an authentic, friendly and un-flashy Indian experience.

We stayed six nights at Shreenath Palace and it was truly wonderful. Omjee the owner is a man of charm , generosity and wit. His wife is a wonderful cook who cooked up fantastic surprise breakfasts every day. Hindu is an adorable young man with a wealth of knowledge who looked after all our needs. The rooms are spectacular. I really enjoyed my stay and would highly recommend this palace to anyone.

After running away from Desert Haveli guest house we found this wonderful haveli just next door!
The owner is a teacher, very kind and attentive to make us spend a good stay.
The room was big although cleaned the indian style we did received cleaned sheets and had warm water for the shower!
The location, view and very nice environment of a real haveli made the stay excellent!

We were lucky to stay in Shreenath Palace because it was if we were at home! It was so friendly, the owner even invited us for Diwali in his family to share the prayers and the good dinner. Moreover, the Haveli has a lot of charm and is very well situated, do not hesitate to come in this place, you will not regret it.

Room Tip: The rooms are big and the decoration very nice
