Description: The “OTA” heritage restaurant situated at Gulab Sagar Lake and above the ‘Ranga Bhawan’ a 150 year old haveli of Raj Jyotish of Pokhran Tekhana, they are famous for their miraculous cure with Ayurvedic and Astrological chart reading in Marwar region and very close to the 100 year old step wall. After stepping on to the “OTA” rooftop restaurant with the view is so captivating be it at any point of time be it dawn or the brink of twilight, as in front of you lies the majestic Mehrangarh fort, a fort that is so vast that it manages to cover the scope of your horizon, alongside the colour combination of warm and light which makes is appealing to the eye as in the morning the sun rises from behind the fort making it shine and the rays of sun making it seem like an aura of sorts. With a sight such as this the sounds that complement it are soft warbling of birds alongside the soft movements of water from the Gulab Sagar and during the time of prayers the ringing of the temple bell; moreover, if looking for an hourly reminder then it’s the sound of the clock as the historic clock tower announces the end of every hour of the day. What makes dining at “OTA” special is not only the view but the succulent Marwari, Indian and Continental food that is cooked by professional chef with extreme care and authentic ingredients to provide the best culinary experience to it’s guests. The “OTA” is managed by the owners of Park Plaza Jodhpur and the Amargarh Resort, Being in the hospitality business for decades they have a flair for interiors and design. They have adopted the step well as part of their group’s CSR activities and have been working on it last two months to upgrade the step well. The step is another attraction and will be leveraged to conduct soft Indian music recital. At “OTA” the traditions of hospitality and care are the service philosophy.

I know I’m going to hate myself for doing this. At the moment this restaurant is not well known. No need to book. In time it could be one of the busiest restaurants in Jodhpur with tables at a premium. I’m getting ahead of myself.
Ota is situated in the backstreets of Jodhpur next to the reservoir. (You can see this reservoir/lake from the fort). There is a small dining area inside, but why would you. The attraction is the large rooftop dining area on two levels. Some tables are shaded others are not. The views are spectacular.
The food is bistro/cafe style. Alcohol is available, at a price. The menu provides a choice including burgers and chips. The service really needs to improve. We were the only two people there, we wanted a snack so we ordered Indian style chicken burgers and they were good. But, big but, we had to wait 40minutes for them.
As I said, this could be a busy, busy place but it needs to get its act together in the kitchen.

We went to OTA Restaurant suggested by some friends. We were told it was great for Dining.Since we had no time in the evening we visited the place for Lunch. It is a bit difficult to locate as one has to drive in narrow lanes.Once we reached,we found the staff very hospitable, one of them came down to help us park the car and helped us to move up the high stairs to the first floor. The restaurant has outdoor seating and the view from the dining area is awesome. One can see the Mehrangarh Fort in the background and the Gulabsagar lake on the side.We were told that there are seating area inside the hall, but we preferred to sit outside due to the view and the breeze. The food was delicious and served well.We could imagine how beautiful this place must be for dinner with all the lighting of the Fort and surrounding area. The food is expensive but good in taste and service.
