This sweet guesthouse is a 2min walk from th clocktower and bazaars. Its a very nice 15min walk to the fort. Its run by a family and you feel very at home which is always my preference about the places I stay. The owner a staff are so helpful. The rooms are basic, but spacious and all you need. Nice restaurant on the roof with if a lovely view, and many other restaurants around if you want variety. Overall, a lovely stay and I definitely will stay there again.

Gopal is everything that a family-run guest house is supposed to be. The location is very central, a very short walk from the centrally located clocktower and the main market.

My room, a single, was clean and affordable, with access to hot water and a shared bathroom.

The food is delicious and very affordable. I literally ate every breakfast, lunch and dinner on their rooftop restaurant, because there was simply no need to go elsewhere. There is also an excellent view of the fort from the rooftop, and it's a beautiful place to enjoy the sunset.

The owner is kind and very honest. If you plan on doing any shopping while in Jodhpur, speak to him first. He'll let you know where you'll get the best deals and what a fair price is.

The wifi is also a big plus. It's on 24/7 and pretty reliable.

All in all, if you want a hassle-free affordable place to stay while in Jodhpur for a few days, Gopal is an excellent choice.

Gopal guest house is located within walking distance from the Merangarh fort and a few blocks away from the main market and the clock tower, just enough to get away from the noise and congestion.

The owner is very friendly without being overbearing, he won't try to sell you a bunch of stuff you don't want or need. Very refreshing compared to many other guest house owners!

The rooms are clean and comfortable, there is both attached and detached bathroom options available as well as hot water/no hot water.

I paid 250/night during my 6 night stay in the more quiet property in a backyard a couple of blocks away from the actual guest house. The room had an attached bathroom with hot water and a private balcony.

The only downside might be that the roof terrace gets unbearably hot during midday. However there is a good restaurant (Jhankar) across the intersection with a small walled garden which stays cool during this time. A great option if you want to get away from the heat.

Like the title says: highly recommended!

They gave me a fine room (not the Hilton, but a basic but very clean room) in their other guesthouse and I could hang around in Gopal as much as I wanted to use the free wifi. Their prices are very competitive and they won't try to sell you anything like bus tickets etc. The friendly owner took me and some other hotel guests (for free!) to some festivals that were going on in the city.

This is a family run guesthouse, it's like staying in somebody's house. We were on a very tight budget, so we only stayed the cheapest room there, the room is spacious but the bathroom is not attached, there also is a air cooler, the bathroom is right outside of the room, very neat and clean. As you can see from the pictures here, they do have other rooms that with attached bathroom and air-conditions. There's a small roof top restaurant with over looking the fort and some part of the town. I enjoyed having my tea here.

The place is not hard to find, it's just right around the clock tower, The owner is a kind person, he has helped us with our trip and given us some great advices. I would definitely stay with him again.

We stayed here three nights and it was really lovely. The family really make you feel at home - especially the young boy that replied with giggles every time we spoke to him. The location is fantastic - only a 15 minute walk to Meheranger fort and 5 mins from the clock tower. You can pretty much get a view of the fort from any hotel in Jodhpur but the view from the rooftop restaurant at Gopal is stunning - just far enough away to capture the whole fort in a photo. The food at the restaurant was nice. Free wifi was great! Even though we opted for the cheaper room, it was really lovely and spacious. I would highly recommend this guest house
