This hotel is more like a museum!! Its architecture is beautiful and its rooftop patio has the most amazing view of the Mehrangarh Fort. Unfortunately, I only spent one night there with a couple of friends but could have easily stayed longer had time permitted. The food is very good, our room was spacious enough and the bathroom quite large. Staff is friendly and having a snack and a drink on the rooftop patio ends your day just nicely! The hotel is well located, in the heart of the city, just a few minutes walk from the town centre with all the shops and markets you want. I strongly suggest you drop in for famously delicious Lassi in the Clock Tower!! It's thick, yummy and refreshing!! The place has a great vibe!

We stay twice recently on a winter visit to Jodhpur. We were given a choice of 2 room and the one we opted for was a little basic but had a nice view out over the Pal - the pond/lake next to the Hotel. It was a little noisy (freight trains honking in the distance, autoricks beeping on the streets outside0 but this is India and the Hotel is RIGHT in the centre of town.
The best bit about our stay really was the rooftop restaurant and the waiters. We have a very sociable 6 year old son and by the end of our stay he could be seen sitting at the rooftop bar chatting with the staff and generally having a great time. On our return after a visit to Jaislamer he was treated like the returning prodigal son. We spent lots of time laughing here and our son thought it was the best place he had ever stayed. Many thanks to the rooftop crew.

We were in our honeymoon. So we had booked a Royal Heritage room to have a nice one. When we arrived at Pal Haveli ( early in the day, before noon) they led us to a room around a nice small internal courtyard, but it was with twin beds, so I asked for a room with a double bed. They then proposed us a room on the big courtyard, at the entrance of the haveli, on the way to the restaurant. The room was big and nicely decorated, but very dark. It is an ex office, where people used to come to propose their goods to the inhabitants of the haveli, so it used to have two doors on the street. The two doors have been blocked, so only one window is left and not much light goes through. And the drawback is that the wall faces the street so it is very noisy with the usual indian honks. So I asked them if they could give us a room on the internal courtyard, but they were all occupied ( or with twin beds). We took up the room for one night and the next day they upgraded us to one of the historical Suites ( the Queen Suite). It's all painted in gold, it's big and it has three enormous windows giving on the internal courtyard. We loved it, it was super quiet and it made up for the previous night.
But I have read here that they often disappoint people by offering twin beds to those who want a double, or by offering double beds to those who want twin beds, so you'd better be clear when you book.
Last point, the restaurant was supposed to be really good according to the Lonely Planet but we were quite disappointed. The view is great but since it was cold we stayed indoors, the cocktails were not good and the food seemed re-heated and was not really tasty. But we did not really find a good restaurant in Jodhpur in general.

Room Tip: The standard rooms are small, the Royal Heritage ones are bigger but apparently many have only twin...

The Pal Haveli has a very nice Roof top restaurant. We stopped for lunch at this place. When we left this place I had forgotten my iPad and the bag containing all my money. The very Honest person serving us there had collected the same and started looking for us. Finally I got back the items thanks to such Honest person who works at Pal haveli. Really appreciate this.

I stayed with my family here in Dec 2013. Though the hotel ambience is good and even rooms are nice. But the hotel staff is very arrogant.the night we checked in , we went for dinner to the restaurant at 9.45 pm.But the Hotel staff told us very rudely that we should have come early as it was their closing time, though the restaurant was open till 11 pm. Service is very slow. Breakfast is not served as buffet. So we had to order it and the tea was served after 45 mins. The restaurant is located on the terrace, and the stairs leading to the terrace are narrow and steep. It was a terrible experience for my parents to climb upto the restaurant.
Please avoid this hotel.

We ate here most evenings on the beautiful rooftop restaurant. The restaurant was clean. The staff were attentive. The meals were prepared to any special requests (eg. mild spicy).
The hotel was fully booked, but we would like to stay here again if we visit Jodhpur again. There is a wonderful little shop in the hotel complex selling beautiful paintings at very reasonable prices, too,
