“Expensive given the quality”
Reviewed 18 April 2014

Prepaid the equivalent of about 3800 INR on Agoda which seemed quite expensive given the quality of the establishment and the time of year. A fairer price for a place of this quality would be about 2500 INR.

Pros:
- Free wifi (but intermittent reliability: sometimes wasn't working at all)
- Great views of the fort
- Convenient location near the clock tower
- 2 restaurants to choose from inside the building.
- Friendly staff

Cons:
- Expensive for what you get
- Noisy rooms: traffic plus neighbour noise
- Aircon wasn't working properly so the room was quite hot at night (overhead fan worked fine though)
- Hot water didn't work at night but worked fine in the morning
- Sagging mattresses, not so comfortable
- Wifi intermittent
- Towels old and stained
- 10am checkout isn't really convenient if you want to see the fort in the morning and then leave (fortunately I was able to negotiate a slightly later checkout, but sheets and towels were removed at 9am for laundry).

room is basic, it smelled smoky which was very noticable upon entering the room. We were only given 2 bath towels, no floor mat or hand towels and they were very dingy. It was hard to regulate the hot water. Sleeping in the bed felt like sleeping on lawn chair slats, very uncomfortable. Breakfast was very disappointing. The restaurant was not very clean, there was white sandwich bread, a box of cereal and yogurt. you could get an egg, but it took a very long time and the atmosphere was so off putting, by then I was no longer interested. There are many stairs.

This hotel is situated a hop and a skip away from the clock tower,so is incredibly convenient. The rooms are large and clean, as are the bathrooms. It is a rather impersonal hotel, unlike many of the Havelis we have stayed in and possibly a slightly odd layout.
Breakfast is served on an upstairs terrace with a great view of Merengarh Fort. Breakfast itself is fairly basic buffet fayre, but the eggs are cooked fresh...they may be slightly cold by the time they are delivered to your table!!
The tarrif is quite high, but then Jodhpur seemed to be the most expensive of all the places we stayed in Rajasthan. If you want space, peace and quiet and safety, this is for you.

Room Tip: The restaurant and bar on the roof are expensive, but good.

Bit confused by the reviews here that say the location is 'terrible'. The hotel is located in the middle of the city - by default, this means it's going to be a bit of a noisy and active area. This is India, after all.

However, what's great about the property is that as soon as you saunter up the walkway, you're basically in a nice oasis of calm right smack in the middle of all that chaos. The grounds of the property (adjoining with the Haveli Inn, which is a separate hotel) is great. Nice spot to relax after going through the market and both restaurants have fantastic views of the fort on the hill.

So, why 3 stars? Well, I struggled between 3 and 4 stars - this was by far the property that was the least expensive of all of the hotels we stayed during our three week trek in India, so it's great value for money. However, the bathrooms are still a bit dated and uncomfortable, and the air conditioning units are probably a bit too loud to be of much use to cool the room (we couldn't run it in the evenings and sleep, but it wasn't really that big a deal, as it was only March and not terribly hot in Jodhpur yet). Breakfast up top was spartan, to say the least - the cold spread wasn't much, although they did do some good hot food.

All in all, if you're looking for a good value property in the middle of the city, this would tick a lot of boxes. We enjoyed our time here, although not cetain we'd be back, but I think that's more back to our personal taste than anything else.

We stayed as a couple at this hotel. It is located in the old city and is therefore close to Mehrangarh fort which can be seen from its roof top. The area is teeming with activity. The staff is excellent and the room impeccably clean. The breakfast buffet doesn't offer a huge selection but is nonetheless good as far as the taste is concerned. The hotel has a rooftop restaurant which has the imposing structure of the Mehrangarh fort in the backdrop. It is very picturesque at night. We enjoyed a nice dinner there. Would love to stay here again.

The hotel is located at a very very shabby and dirty place. Although the other things like hotel rooms, food etc. are no bad. The first impression which one gets is not really good. I will definitely suggest my friends to avoid this property.

Room Tip: No recommendation.

I am giving 4 rating for its location and the views from the roof-top restaurant.

Stayed at the hotel for 2 nights during end of February; it is a heritage property with thick walled rooms keeping temperature controlled inside the room. Our room was in the ground floor, which unfortunately was not well-ventilated. But it was clean and spacious; unfortunately with a pillar within the room spoiling the beauty of the same.

Parking is a pain in this property; they don't allow parking tourist vehicle within the premises of the hotel. And the hotel being located within a market area, you have to park your car in the market place only. However, the hotel guys will help you to find a parking and they claim that they have 24x7 surveillance through cctv. Since parking is a pain they will insist you to take a rickshaw to the fort keeping the car in the hotel. The reason given by them would be the roads are narrow to drive. But my suggestion is to take the Nai Sadak and High court road to reach the fort; that's a convenient road to drive.

Food was average; but freshly cooked and they serve good portions. The best part of the hotel is its roof-top restaurant; from where you can watch the huge Mehrangarh Fort. The night-view of Jaswant Thada from the restaurant was awestruck.

Room Tip: Try the Fort view room in the upper floor
