really nice 2 day visit to Jodpur made even better by a stay at this totally unique place right under the nose of the massive fort. Blown away by the views from the rooftop terrace of the blue city below. Friendly owners, decent food, great value

would def stay again!

thank you! :)

We arrived here after having spent a night near the clock tower. Here everything was more calm. No noise, beautiful view on the blue city, 5 min walking from the fort, good and happy staff. We ended up having dinner here in this nice atmosphere.

We were there in early 2014.
Interesting place for sure, lost in the labyrinth of the alleys around, most of those too small for cars, barely large enough for the tuk tuk at time.
Wonderful view from the roof top, of the near by fort on one side , of the town on the other , with all the blue houses.
We had the suite, a special room the young man said, maybe 500 year old . . .
with the bigger bed, the alcove and the colored glass pieces, a slight draft at night , but a nice hot shower in a large basic bathroom. We slept well.
We walked to the market place late afternoon, looked around leisurely and had dinner somewhere there, and took a tuk tuk back instead of walking as it was dark and all the shops had closed, charged us 80 inr . . .
The friendly staff arranged for a tuk tuk to pick us up in the morning and drive us to the airport, took about 20\25 minutes, cost 250. Everybody was helpful.
A funky place in a good way, we would come back.

Upon arrival we realized that we forgot our photo camera in our drivers car, and before even booking a room the hotel staff made a phone call for us to get the contact details of our driver and arranged for us to get our camera back, that is great service! We stayed in one of the cheaper rooms without view, but the room was cool (and had more than sufficient A/C) and was decorated with traditional handicrafts. Furthermore the rooms and hotel were super clean! The common areas are decorated in style as well, a true palace with swings, lovely sitting areas and a great restaurant. On top of that there is a roof terrace with amazing views over the blue city. The food at the hotel was great, among the best meals we've had in India and for a good price. A great quite place in the heart of a busy city! The hotel arranges rickshaw for a good price!

Room Tip: The cheaper rooms are great value for money, though if you can afford we would recommend everyone to...

1. There is no lift...if you are not staying in ground floor you will need to climb very steep steps
2. Bathroom lock didnt work
3. AC was not sufficient for such a big room.

BUT

1. Location is great. It took less than 10 minutes to reach fort on foot. Getting there is not possible with a car. Auto can easily get there and everyone know the place so its not hard to find out.
2. Decoration of our room and restaurant is beautiful. Room is very spacious with seating area and window. Bathroom is OK type. View is magnificent both from room and rooftop.
3. Staff was really really realllly helpful.
4. It has free wifi. Works great near restaurant a bit weak in room.
May be this place does not provide all luxury options or comfort requests but it is a great place to stay.

This Havali is over 500 years old! Talk to the brother duo, Darpan & Arpan, as they will tell you the story & history of this place! We stayed in the "Sheesh Mahal" room, which felt like being in a movie set made for a king. Room was very spacious with big & comfy bed, cute bay window, seating area & very spacious bathroom (western toilet, shower & sink). Shower pressure was good but hot water had trouble staying consistent. Everything single detail in room had history & a story to tell I'm sure....truly romantic & special in every way!

Location is very close to train station & Mehrangarh, which we visited on foot. The roads around Havali were very narrow so tuk tuk was best transportation option if going to & from train station. Restaurant was very charming & food was delicious with fair prices. Their was a rooftop seating area had a magnificent view of surrounding "blue city" & amazing Mehrangarh. Best place to stay in Jodhpur!
