I cannot agree more with the previous review “Nothing can Match what they did for us”. We too have just returned from another memorable visit to Devi Garh (the 3rd time in 5 years). We travel a lot and rarely visit a location twice - Devi Garh just keeps calling us back. Read my previous reviews, I wont repeat myself. Since our last visit, the palace has changed management twice. A lot can change in 5 years (especially in India). Thankfully at Devi Garh, all for the better. Thankfully the current custodians are Lebua (the luxury Asian group). Asia does hotels like nobody else, Indian hospitality cannot be rivalled. Rajasthan is not Goa, Devi Garh is not just a hotel - it is integral to the village and people who surround it. Something the current management respect. So whats changed? The extensive new menu (including more international options), the home grown fresh ingredients. The wine list. The pool area, the Spa. The plump, blooming gardens. The entire vibe actually. Too much to list. But none of this happened by accident - its down to Lebua, the delightful staff and especially Rachna Sharma the (live in) Manager. A young, charismatic (and somewhat glamorous) lady. Rachna understands that you get the best out of your team - by treating them well and equal. Modern, progressive management in the most traditional part of India. With Lebua the staff are now very happy (I've had the privilege to get too know many of the staff over the years). Akhtar and Amit are like brothers. It says everything, when Rachna invited us for cocktails that lasted two fun hours. She even called us personally when we left - to bid us a fond farewell. I doubt she gets much sleep, as this is a lady who achieves perfection - by continuously seeking what can be improved. Not much actually! All in the tiniest of detail - I doubt there is not a single tree that has not been relit by her own hands. Devi Garh is now re attracting the crowd who have long known its beauty. Many (like us) return and return again. Not just for the palace and breathtaking location - but especially for the lovely friends we have kept in the hotel and village.

Room Tip: Both the Palace and Aravali Suites are very generous in proportions and have the astonishing views...

I run indias most successful social event company. To celebrate my friends 15th wedding anniversary we took 35 couples for weekend from across India to devigarh Palace. They exceed all our expectations. The team led by Ms Rachna sharma and execution by Mr raj showed Highest level of professionalism. Being in trade for last 15 years and having managed events across the globe we know very well about hotel gm attitude, hotel staff approach and overall team support in executing an event.. We have had many bad experiences in past and few good ones. But this hotel surpasses all under all barometers. Hotel r rooms are most beautiful, location is scenic, welcome is warm, ambience is serene, as sun sets we see totally different place glowing under amber uplights. Pool is temperature controlled and most welcoming. If you are lucky enough to be staying at the presidential suite you will have experience of your life. Food is awesome and the variety served us unbelievable. Right from regal rajasthani thali to Italian oriental north Indian and continental food all is served by former chefs trained at best of 5 stars across india. I am a very choosy and demanding person and red as an agency is tuff to deal, but outing the weekend we had no Issues which were not solved, not a single stress moment with hotel staff, they are all always willing to help and go out of the way to make our event successful..my sincere advise to all readers is to go ahead and experience life at devigarh Palace. . It's not worth missing it.. you only live once.

This palace is outstanding, it is by far the best resort i have stayed in - the staff are so kind and attentive. The surrounding views are amazing. the peace and tranquility i obtained from 2 nights at devi ghar made my hectic india trip well worth it. The food was beautiful and we were catered for according to our needs. The spa was wonderful. There is nothing negative i can say about the hotel. We were given a amazing palace suite with the marble pool. Overall, the hotel for me was well worth it - and i would def travel to it again.

Service was very poor, and lot of mis communication between staff, no proper staff to take problem seriously
In room dining service is very bad especially they forget small things which are included in your meal and this happen more than 2-times after that also no proper person listen to complaint , after commitment of one staff other staff doesn't entertain this was the worst one, In front of 10 people commitment made is not accepted by 2nd staff, and first staff says same what he has committed than also 2nd staff decline the discount offered, untidy nampkeens, food service take long time about an hour still they miss some important portion of meal... No proper person to take responsibility that this will not happen next time .... I never write about silly mistakes but 1st time writing as I found it paying so much far from city and still such a bad experience in service than why would one love staying here..
Food was good but the service made it bad .. May be they can't handle more person as occupancy of hotel was high..

Dear Guest

Thank you for your note once again. We are very sincere and serious with our guest feedback and take immediate steps for service recovery like we did in your case while you stayed with us.

Within two minutes of your phone call the GM of the hotel had personally met you outside your suite and apologized for the delay in Breakfast and IRD in the morning and also as service recovery had offered 50 percent off on Holi Buffet Brunch, on special request we had extended the same to entire four rooms.

Additionally we also accommodated the request for complimentary spa as service recovery on same matter.

However unfortunately none of the group members used the discount on Holi Brunch.

Upon check out, the hotel staff was asked for 50 % discount on room service again instead to which our team personally apologized explaining that it was not possible.

We apologize for not being able to meet your expectations inspite of doing our best. Hopefully we would get to serve you in near future again.

Many Thanks - Management

A fortress hotel high on a hill, your first sight of the place sets the scene. Only some 30 suites and tents. The interior designers have seriously been at work here without losing the sense of history.
The service and quality of food are second to none and we seem to becoming to expect it as we travel around Rajasthan.
A must do is the village walk which we did with Akhter, a real character who was really fun and new everyone. He would make a good guide.
I then repeated the walk on my own the next morning and found everyone just as friendly. The village have a cooperative shop which is a good visit and a way to put something back into the community.
Another must is the private dinner. We had ours in an large alcove high up in the fortress with just the two of us and some four waiters and lots of flower petals.

Room Tip: We had a Palace Suite - a huge beautifully appointed room with amazing views over the surrounding co...

An imposing building sitting above and quite close to Rajsamand, this is a seriously class act. Comfortable rooms decked out in a sort of minimalist style, beautiful views over the village and some farms, excellent staff and good food all combine for a truly memorable stay. The spa, my wife tells me, is also worth a visit.

The negatives are that the booze is expensive. It is really about an hour from Udaipur at the top of a really hair- raising main road, even by Indian standards. These two facts are related as the journey up and down should only be undertaken after a couple of drinks as it might just save a change of trousers.

We came to visit Udaipur, a jewel with a beautifully restored City Palace, but we fell in love with our own palace by Lebua at Devi Garh. Perfectly restored with a staff that loves their work and wants nothing more than to help make your stay memorable, this resort combines luxury, history, romance, relaxation and privacy in pefect balance. The massages at the L'Occitaine spa were top rate. Set high on the hill, sunset from the bar with a bellini is an event. Romantic private dinners can be arranged in the mirror room high above the city. Choose western or Indian style food in the restaurant; you will be delighted. Breakfast buffets and eggs cooked to your personal taste enjoyed to the background music of a flute player is a once in a lifetime experience as you look dreamily into the hills and plan your day. Yes, this hotel is outside Udaipur but a private driver or hotel car will be sure you are guided in the city and brought home each afternoon to the comfort of your palace....that is if you are able to find the discipline to leave the resort. We recommend staying at the resort for your entire visit to Udaipur. Those we met who opted to stay in the city and spend only a night at the end of their trip at Lebua were sorry they hadn't spent more time at the resort where you can explore the palace finding art, a special vies, a piece of history and an extraordinary doorway around every turn.

Room Tip: Ask for a view of the mountains. Be certain you advise reservations if you have a problem with stair...
