“comfortable rooms”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 April 2013

The resort is beautiful- gardens, swimming pool and live music on weekends. Gym was good when we were staying there. Rooms are good and well maintained. Food is also okay. Staff however, was not well trained. It also seemed understaffed.

Room Tip: definitely on the top floors, basement rooms looked inconvenient.

I stayed in Jan 2013 for 2 nights with family, in Deluxe room. Room view is very good. Hotel location is also nice.

Food was good, though bit pricey. Staff was helpful. The worst thing was that most of the facilities in the resort were not working like boating, spa, saloon, Jacuzzi, sauna, steam, computer games at kids room etc. Thus it was a let down for the price been paid for the stay.

Rooms have LCD but the reception was poor. Not recommended at the current prices been charged with most of the facilities not working!

We stayed at Jeevantara for 1 night at the fag end of our Rajasthan road trip - we were spending a night in Udaipur (we had spent 3 nights in the city at the beginning of the trip) on the way back to Mumbai from Ranthambhore, and Jeevantara was supposed to be a convenient overnight sleepover. The location made sense for us, as it meant that we would not have to enter the city, and would save precious time on both our driving days. However, for someone who wants to enjoy Udaipur, the location is far from ideal, as its 30-40 minutes from the main city.

We had very little expectation from this place, but still managed to end up being hugely disappointed. The property is built on a large area, and would have probably been a great place to spend a couple of nights at some point of time in the past. However, the maintenance levels were shoddily poor - the room walls had paints peeling off, and had smudges and paan-stains (betelnut stains) all over. The bed covers and sheets had not been changed and had several dirt marks, and same goes for towels.

The staff was quite nonchalant about all this, and refused to change our rooms citing non-availability (much later, they did offer to move us to another higher category rooms). Also, in one of the rooms, there was a problem with the geyser, and we did not get warm water int he morning.

Despite having no expecations, the hotel managed to disappoint on basic counts like cleanliness and hygiene.

Hotel was good, had an excellent view. Hills all around. I think Udaipur is like that, where ever you go, you will get a hill view.
Staff at the hotel was good, they were soft spoken and courteous and were giving good advise where to go.
Only thing they need to work on was to hot water during winter mornings as they rely on solar heating.

Room Tip: take the ground floor rooms, because there are basement rooms also available. Deluxe rooms are good...

We had visited in month of november 2012,very good place, with excellent food served.I was put up at the executive rooms with pool view.Stayed there for three nights, was worth staying there.Intially was diificult to reach the place as we were dropped down further on road by the bus. They have regular activities during evening hours where one can really enjoy.I must say i really liked the tea served.

Darshan.

Although the resort is a bit far from the city it has been a great experience staying there. The hotel staffs are very friendly and helpful. The food from the restaurant is excellent. The resort's ambiance is very nice. In short a great value for money.
