It's quite brave to do fusion Indian (or fusion Chinese for that matter), because the essentially family nature of Indian cuisine doesn't easily adapt itself to western techniques. Some dishes are good (eg. the soups, lamb chop appetizer, etc), some are barely Indian (eg. the duck main course). Most surprisingly for an Oberoi restaurant, service is not good. The head waiter (or rather front room manager) is knowledgeable and very effective. There's only one of him, so service is slow, The other waiters are blurred or even clueless. The whole experience is a let down given the beautiful setting. Oberoi hotels are not known for having 'destination' eateries (where non-hotel guests would come for a meal), but at least service is usually impeccable. At this establishment, it doesn't even offer that.
