“faar from city, poor service, unreasonably expensive, very poor ambience, decent food”
Reviewed 18 February 2014

Its is maximum a 3 star hotel. it is highly expensive for whatever facilities they offer. I had originally booked Trident through via.com. However, 10 days before my trip, I was told that Trident is sold out and I had to manage with this (here I would like to write down a few good words for via.com - it is definitely the WORST travel website around, do not ever book your holidays through via.com, even if they are offering a world tour for free. They are absolutely incapable of handling holidays. they have the worst possible incapable staff/customer handling executives. anyways, via.com is one story, I am here to review the hotel - Inder Residency, (where i finally stayed). I have given below some pros n cons below. Basis these, u may decide for urself....

Pros
- food quality is good though u will not find a lot of options
- has a swimming pool which is well maintained
- reception staff is polite but not handling queries properly

Cons
- the quality of furnishings, interiors is pathetic, room floors are not clean and not even carpeted. Do not be fooled by the video of rooms provided on their website...it is definitely glorified...Washrooms near hotel reception is like a public toilet!!
- poor ambience
- from my room, i could hear people talking outside, phones ringing in other rooms
- they provide you free mineral water bottles only on day 1. On subsequent days, they are willing to charge. I had to argue a lot with the room attendant for such a small thing like water bottle and then he provided me 1 bottle of mineral water. They charge INR 150 for every bottle!!!
- it wud sound unbelievable but they have only free channels on tv, no set-top box - so be ready to watch local channels of Rajasthan with Bhojpuri movies or movies of 70's or 80's.... u manage with DD, CinemaTV, Khushboo TV (which actually stinks) n some other stupid channels which u will never watch at home.
- At this time, if u think u can manage with internet on ur tablet - then be ready to pay heavily for wifi connectivity (i do not remember the exact charges, though it was close to my personal wi-fi's monthly charges ). i requested them for a discount but again same rigidity and did nor offer any discount.
- it is pretty faaaar from city so u better book cabs in advance (minimum charge is INR 600)
- food in their hotels is expensive - they charge INR 150 for a mineral water bottle!!!!!!

Final verdict - i think this hotel may be good for organising and attending weddings as a guest, as you dont need apy anything.....lol!!!... (they must be giving out good cheaper deals). During my stay of 3 days, there were equivalent no. of weddings there.

Room Tip: if u really cannot find anything better - then make sure that u do not take rooms around room no. 10...

The hotel is quite far from city and not at all suitable for business travellers. The hotel only has an reasonable looking reception ...But otherwise it's not definitely worth more than 2 stars ! Simple things like mineral water bottle and adequate Tv channels are missing which one finds even in 3 star hotels in city! Service of staff at reception was really bad, they mention that they took advance tariff of the room!! Never seen in any good hotel this system! Rooms Are mere basic....TV transmission really bad and as mentioned above that some of the basic channels are nit available....will not recommend anyone .

We recently attended a wedding here. And we simply loved it. The property has been very well maintained and is beautiful. Ofcourse, you don’t necessarily feel like you are in a city of palaces cause you’re not able to see any around. But I would strongly recommend it.
The service was decent and the staff was helpful. But then again it could be because it was booked entirely for a wedding. The rooms look like they had been refurbished recently. The food was good too but not sure if they had allowed outside cratering.

Problems started from the check in... Had booked this place 6 months in advance but they still had a separate bed room for us, they offered an upgrade to suite for a then and then asked to shift us back which I didn't wanted had a lot of argument with the manager who was rude and stood by his words and I took the room as I was tired after a long drive from ranthambore.

The suite was very poor, we found used towels and room amenities are below average even for a 3 star hotel. Next day received a call from reception notifying that we can continue our stay in the suite for the rest of our stay.

As I reached here on 31st found people drinking and abusing in the lawn, location is worst.

Only good thing about this place was the good reception staff.

Writing this review while staying here as I am do disappointed.

Please avoid this place.

*to far from the city centre, as traffic is always heavy and slow in India one looses a lot of time staying here.
*unpleasant rooms, walls painted white, no decoration, all the rest was dark brown! depressing!!
*we stayed there 2 nights as part from a roundtrip with a group, had breakfast and dinner there. Very poor!! On top of this nearly no current drinks available. The first evening we got a card to choose the drinks from, either they did not have what we asked are the waiters just arrived with something else eg. Sprite iso of Coke!!!! No tonic water available but they promised there certainly would be the next evening. Well, still worse: for our group of 15 (we were the only guests in the hotel,in October, that tells a lot) they had put on a small table some beers, some still waters, 1 soda water and a couple of Sprites. Well, that was all they had for us. Not the promised tonic water. So I asked to speak to the manager, after a long discussion with him, he promised to find 2 tonic waters, indeed 20 min. later!!!! he arrived with 2 cooled tonic waters. I only can conclude that they had much more drinks than they wanted to serve us as a group.
Very, very poor service. Never again.

Room Tip: just avoid this hotel!

Let me start with first things first. It is neither a 5-Star property as claimed on some of the Tour Operator's website, nor it is a 4-Star Property as claimed on tripadvisor.in. It is just around a 3-Star facility for a reasonable decent stay.
The Lobby of the Hotel is rather plain looking and with barely minimum décor.
The Rooms, though Clean and reasonably furnished are of no 4 or 5 Star comfort. The room I stayed in was on the Ground Floor facing the tiny hillock inside the hotel- good view. The curtains were not as clean as I would have liked to be in a Deluxe Hotel. Though we were visiting as a Couple, we were given a Room with Two Single beds instead of the usual expected Double Bed ! Not expected from a Hotel claiming to be a 5 or 4 Star property ! The Bath Room was again not up-to the mark. The Shower was of the routine Fixed-in-the-wall types, with Controls and Mixers below the level my knees. And for a person of my height, it was such a pain bending again and again to get proper temperature of water for a shower. The Shower Linen was of below average quality- not matching even 3-Star facility.
The In-Room Pantry was just OK. The water supplied was from the RO Plant of the Hotel in Reusable Plastic Bottles that we keep in our houses in Refrigerators- A First for me in about 15 years of travelling across the world ! Bottled Mineral Water is a basic need of the Starred Hotels ! The Tea-Bags were of some very inferior brand I had never heard of before ! The Mini Bar was empty with no supplies.
The Games room was not properly maintained. The chess board was broken and with Chess Men in Different shades of White and Black- obviously a mixture of some incomplete sets !
The Buffet Breakfast was just adequate, nothing boasting of 4 or 5 Star standards, but overall, the Buffet Breakfast was Good.
On the positive side, the Cleanliness in the Hotel was Very Good. The Reception Staff Efficient and courteous. The Room Service was Prompt and Good by any standards.
I must mention that the approach to the Hotel is rather inconvenient through Narrow street of some Residential Colony. But once inside the gates of the Hotel, it is a sprawling property .
I found it Nice, Comfortable, but slightly costlier by it's standard.

Room Tip: One can get better hotels around the Pichola Lake in similar price-band. Avoid the rooms facing po...
