“truly extraordinary hospitality”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 July 2013

One of the best hotels I have evers stayed in. The staff of all departments were exceptional and very attentive to even the smallest of details. Access is from a jetty accross the lake although you may also navigate the narrow streets leading to the back entrance. The boat entry/exit is definitely recomended. The breakfast is spectacular with a lot of options and the dining offers are also vast. The rooms are excptionally large and have a goodmix of the contemporary and the traditional. For sure, there is no chance for any disappointment.

Room Tip: best rooms are the ones which offer a lake and city view which includes the palace

I had never imagined that stay at a hotel can be so luxurious.Decorated like a kings palace this hotel is amidst Pichola lake in Udaipur. You have to reach there by a jetty though there exists a congested road route too.The lake is surrounded by decent properties but this one is one amongst the best. From rooms the lake is visible and if it is raining it is nature at it's best.
The welcome is in traditional Rajasthani way and the staff is courteous. The food is good though the service takes a little more time.Pillows as per your choice is available, the bed is very comfortable to sleep.
The artifacts placed in the corridors are costly and beautiful.
It is a must visit place.

Room Tip: Must take a room with full view of lake.

We were there for 2 days. The Leela Palace is very beautiful in respect to it's interiors as well as exteriors. Warm welcome, luxury, great hospitality, worth the price, very very clean.
Everything is nicely design and placed. I stayed in a Lake View King with balcony room. The coutyard is awesome, the view is scenic. Only issue I had is that they don't have many indoor games and it was raining most of the time when we were there. Time was passing a little slow. 2 nights stay is enough (provided you are two people and decide to just relax in the hotel).
Food is heavy. It could be the water of Udaipur but food was ok "to me" as I am very particular in that matter. I can expect better and lighter food. I have had much better food. Dining Hall interiors are a lil less than all other places in the Leela but staff is very nice.
Overall worth spending a weekend. It's beautiful experience!

We experienced the Leela Palace in Udaipur for only 1 night and enjoyed every minute of our stay. The boat transfer followed by the welcome with rose petals strewn from the balcony and live music is a world-class experience. The Heritage Rooms are very spacious and the view over the Lake Pichola was memorable.

Room Tip: Heritage Rooms with Lake View should be chosen

I visited Udaipur in July 2013..and We decided to stay at The Leela Palace. Well i must say it was a very good decision we made. The hotel is right on the banks for Lake Pichola, Amazing location to start with.

While entering into the hotel after a boat ride,we were showered by rose petals from above and folk performers were singing songs which makes you feel very special. At the lobby there was a lady ready with our room keys, no check-in formality ....just go straight to your room where again a butler is waiting for you with a welcome juice, where you do the check-in formality being relaxed.

Amazing Plush Rooms, Big Bathrooms, good interiors with an awesome view of the Lake Pichola. Good amenities in the room. By now i was really impressed by the warmth and the hospitality shown by the Hotel Staff. The property is beautiful, Nice Structure of the Hotel along with good landscaping and fountain all over. I must add all the Rooms in the Hotel are Lake View.

The food was great , loved almost everything that we served at the Dining Room. We couldn't eat at their Open to Air restaurant "Sheesh Mahal" as it was the raining season and restaurant is open only during Winters. But still no complains.

Overall i had a amazing experience at the Hotel. One of the best Staff i have seeing with exceptional service. One place where you feel Royal from the time you enter till the time you leave. I will definitely return to Udaipur just to stay here.

Room Tip: Try the Heritage Room with Balcony on Higher floor or the Heritage Room with Sit-out on the 1st Floo...

I will start with my experience around the world in traveling and resorts/hotels. I have been to Chicago, Madison, Boston, Orlando, SF, Washington, Cancun, London ,Singapore and Delhi and I cannot deny that Leela Udaipur is one of the finest experiences ever. I loved each and every bit of the place.

Leela is not a land, it's an atmosphere where you can find beautiful white ornate arches , coupolas , magnificient towers and grandeur and intricacy spread everywhere. The services are wonderful and so is the staff. I found it at par with the Feista Americana in Cancun, rather more luxurious...

Food is simply fabulous. I particularly loved The Dining Room and Chef Kamlesh's Dahi Ke Kabab. They are amongst the best kababs I have had in all the places.

The lake view room is just amazing and so is their decor in the rooms. Recommend it very very strongly to everyone.

I had a beautiful experience on this short visit to Udaipur and stay in the Leela. Although never knew the directions - the easy ones to reach there, basically drove all the way thru the city and small places to reach the hotel by road. After reaching in the hotel, felt peace of mind, that it was a right choice. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Good location to give view of the famous properties around and a lovely ride thru the lake. Food was good too... The hotel was worth all the money spent.

Room Tip: Ask for the Lake facing rooms.....when you reach there, not when you book.
