Sushma's Cooking Classes

Owner description: Over the past 15 years, Sushma has been providing cooking classes to foreign guests who have travelled to India from all different parts of the world. If you sign up for one of her classes, you will enhance your knowledge of cuisine, develop your own cooking skills and indulge yourself in an unforgettable, traditional Rajasthani celebration of food under the guidance of this passionate and experienced teacher! Sushma’s love for cooking began at the young age of 10 while watching her grandmother cook traditional Indian meals for her family. After dipping into many spice jars and creating her own unique Indian dishes, Sushma quickly found her place in the kitchen. Sushma admits she truly is a lover of food and for this reason when she is in the kitchen, she appears as graceful and contented as a queen in her palace. She is most alive and vibrant when sharing the wealth of knowledge she has about food with others who have an appreciation for food.

Attended Sushma's cooking class together with a French couple. Very professional, no nonsense, educational course which also provided an insight into the restaurants' tricks. I think I learned exactly what I needed to give Indian cooking at home a go. The food we cooked by the way was delicious.

Sushma's cooking class was great! She was very accommodating for our desires since we cook a lot of Indian food at home. She taught us how to make South Indian food and gave us the freedom to pick the menu which we wanted to learn. The one north Indian dish we learned was butter paneer was amazing with coconut, almonds, and cashews definitely unique flavor from normal butter paneer recipes. I highly recommend this. It was only 3 of us so we each were able to make a dosa. I would say it is less hands on than some classes I have done but definitely met expectations.

This experience was really amazing for us, we felt like in our own family, and Sushma is such a great teacher!!!She is very clear and patient, she gives all recipes on paper, and step by step we can watch many different indian dishes like malai kofta, butter paneer masala, aloo gobhi, paratha, chapatis, dhal makani, massala tchai.... all coocked with really good and fresh products, and the taste is the best we ever taste in our travel around Rajasthan!! So if you want to follow cooking classes in Rajasthan, it's the best adress for doing that, you will love it for sure; Sushma is such an incredible cooker!!!

“not a cooking class, a cooking show!”
Reviewed 12 February 2014 via mobile

Unfortunatelly this was not a cooking class but a cooking show. A nice show indeed, but I came to cook! The food turned out really nice and Im happy for my receipts. The lady knows how to cook in Europe and that is good! But she needs to at least start pretending that she likes what she's doing and some attention to hygien certainly needs doing. Still, no stomache problems and Im happy!

“Sushma's class is great!”
Reviewed 4 January 2014 via mobile

My husband, a friend of mine and I were in look for a great cooking class. We got referred to Shushma's and from the get go we felt really comfortable with her. She is knowledgeable, genuine and pleasant. We learned how to make 5 dishes and got more recipes to take home. Also, you get to eat what you Shushma showed you how to make, so tell her you want to it upstairs! You'll have a fantastic view from the hotel's rooftop!
