We booked a room for two nights and were given a warm welcome. The photos in the internet performance do not show the reality. There is lakeview from the rooftop, but none from the rooms. In front of the building there is a ruined house. Rahil, the owner was not willing to offer the better room and we had to climb three floors to complain about the bathroom. The wash basin was not working and the staff were not equipped to fix it. They allotted this faulty rooms considering we were busy and desi travellers on business and not a regular phoren firangi!!! The complaints after a hard day were left unanswered and the last morning before check out as the water from the bathroom refused to drain out and we were so pressed for time.that one of us just washed our face at 0530 am in the cold night with cold water as the staff didn't fit to on the water heater. What a harrowing time..as opted for this hotel..looking at friendly reviews and were completely disappointed to not receive the hygienic and working bathroom that we were looking for.

Rahil welcomed us warmly, and we were shown our rooms, spacious and clean, with ensuite bathrooms- also clean. Location wise- ideal - you're situated in the older part of Udaipur, right on the water, and have a "sort of " view of the lake palace - it's still great to just sit out on the terrace and have a drink. The rooftop restaurant serves good food, for both dinner and breakfast, but this also provides a party scene - at night, very noisy and had to grab my ear plugs! All in all, a good place to stay, just a little noisy.

Nayee Haveli hotel is, for sure, a good place to stay.
The staf offers a good welcome and the food at the restaurant is excellent.
You can enjoy the beautiful view on the lake, specially for the sunset.
Rahil, the owner is very nice and helpful. He wants his guests to have a good experience in Udaipur and can provide anything you need during your journey in his place. Don't hesit to ask him any help.
Thank,s at all the team of Nayee Haveli! See you next time in Udaipur!

We stayed in udaipur for three nights and the nayee guesthouse is in a good location and really clean. The owner is friendly and helpful, but it was really loud at night, because in the rooftoprestaurant was a big party going on. The photos in the internet performance do not show the reality. There is lakeview from the rooftop, but no from the rooms. In front of the building there is a ruined house. For that price you get something better.

My friends and I had been travelling through India for a couple of weeks before we arrived at Rahil's hotel and needless to say we were quite shattered! I was so pleased when we arrived to see comfortable, clean rooms and bathrooms situated above all the crazy and amazing hustle and bustle of Udaipur on the streets below. It is so hard to keep your eyes shut and your ears closed however as this hotel offers such a beautifully organic and traditional experience throughout your stay. The building is positioned perfectly with stunning views of the lake. My favourite was the roof terrace, stacked with cushions and candles at night time where my friends and I would sit with Rahil (the owner) and talk until the early hours. If you're lucky he might even read your palm!

Whether you're travelling in a couple, with family or friends, or solo I would highly recommend this place. Rahil and his staff offer such amazing hospitality and go out of their way to cater for your every need. Incredible stay in an incredible hotel. Thank you!

First of all, I've never written a review on tripadvisor before, but there's been a fair amount of criticism about this hotel, which has propelled me to write: my experience of this place was really special.

I met Rahil (and his extended family) in Udaipur last year whilst I was back-backing alone for a few months. I had a simple room over-looking the lake - really beautiful - and took many meals in the excellent cafe upstairs. I was drawn to this place because it was the least touristy and had a fabulously relaxing ambience - really chilled out. I got to know Rahil (and his extended family) fairly well and they were incredibly welcoming and generous.

As a young, blonde female it can be tricky travelling around India - but these guys really looked after me. Total legends!

Room Tip: Opt for a lake view - obviously!

Nayhee Haveli is an authentic Haveli in Old Udaipur, with original parts that are 100 years old. It is located on a typical Ghat on a narrow winding street, beside the lake. Experience local life from hearing the ringing of temple bells to the mezzuin calling from the mosque, watch in amazement as cows meander amidst the rickshaws and colorful sari-clad ladies wash clothes at the edge of the lake. The rooftop terrace has spectacular views over Lake Pichola, breathtakingly beautiful in the morning and at sunset. You can relax with a Masala tea, have a tasty traditional meal or just chill out and enjoy the view. This small friendly hotel has an authentic atmosphere from the narrow staircases to the shabby chic rooms which are clean and comfortable, and is a real home from home. ... more   less
